Day 434 - Monday Monday, Can't Trust That Day

Greetings, Monday morning blah-gers!

I like that greeting so much I'll probably use it every Monday.

Today's diagram shows everything I wanted to take for granted about the ear.

My ears are still stopped up and I can't hear. They are not draining though, so I ASSUME (big word) that I am on the mend, though I am still sneezing and congested.

Using the word 'apparatus' sounds a little old-fashioned to me, like my grandfather calling a disposable diaper a 'contraption'. Hysterical.

Monday night is usually Cracker Barrel night, but for the past couple of weeks we've been busy or away, and tonight our friends are busy, so we'll postpone for another week.

Funny thing, I must have had precognition because I made catfish filets for dinner last night, and we usually order catfish at Cracker Barrel. Don't worry, I don't need the calories.

I'm going to hit the road early for work. I had intended to do a lot of work this weekend, but I couldn't get motivated, being SICK and all.

Karen, the work will still be waiting there for you, trust me. Good point.

Gotta go, gentle readers! Enjoy HEARING things! TTFN!

Day 433 - Where, oh where has my hearing gone...

Greetings, Blogregation!

Good thing I can SEE and SMELL because I can't HEAR. My head is still stuffed up but I am getting a bit better, meaning my ear isn't draining as much. I took my third day of antibiotics today.

I'll make this short because Charlie's son and daughter-in-law are joining us for breakfast later this morning.

On the menu:

Scrambled eggs
home fries
bacon
sausage
country ham on rolls
pancakes
orange/tangerine juice
coffee

Charlie is the designated pancake maker, he's getting good at it!

Whaddya think?

Talk to you later... bye!

Day 432 - Happy Birthday, Island Girl!

Greetings, Bloggy Birthday Celebrants!

Happy Birthday to Older Sister today! AKA Island Girl, AKA 'The Boss'. She had that one before Bruce Springsteen took it.

It feels so good to say 'Older' sister! Sometimes I feel older than dirt.

Here she is at her second birthday party! You sure can spot a homemade cake nowadays, can't you?

Please ignore that there are THREE candles on the cake instead of two, maybe the extra one was 'one to grow on'. Am I right?

I mailed my sister a birthday card earlier this week but it will likely arrive late. Apologies for that! We also won't say which birthday this is, because we're polite on this blog.

Roll sound clip from our favorite kiddie record when we were about five years old...

Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday, to a princess so fair,
May your future be bright, with happiness to share,
Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday, This is a Heaven on Earth day,
Oh life is so wonderful, when you are sixteen...

Happy Birthday!

Changing subjects now...

The 'heat and air man' will be here in a few minutes to tune up the AC for the summer season. They arrive twice a year to keep things in shape and clean the unit. Since it's under warranty, they have a vested interest in keeping it running well!

I need to make up some work hours as well this weekend, I lost a couple hours yesterday going to get my ear looked at.

Well, I'd better eat some breakfast before the maintenance man arrives. TTFN!

Day 431 - I'm sick so I forgot to blog!

Greetings, Bloggy Patients!

This morning I was sick and slept in, then I needed to go to the Dr. and get an antibiotic for my ear infection. I've had a head cold all week that settled in my ear.

So, that's the news and have a nice weekend!

TTFN!

Day 430 - Thursday! One more workday to go

Greetings, Bloggificants! (yes, I made that up).

My presentation went just fine yesterday, and I need to give another one on Tuesday. I have two meetings today, but might ask to work from home tomorrow because I have NO meetings on Friday! Yippee! We'll see how it goes.

Today's artwork was created on a Thursday, so I grabbed it from the internet to post. I love 'kid drawings'! My refrigerator is lonely without them.

In the past, every square inch of the refrigerator was covered with papers, artwork, photos, magnets, memos, and whatever other flotsam and jetsam would adhere to it!

I have a suitcase in the closet filled with old artwork by the kids - maybe I should have some of it framed. A suitcase makes a good storage bin, by the way, and can stand in place in a closet!

By the way, I have another suitcase that is going to the dump, the zipper got on my last nerve and I'm tired of fighting with it. Does anyone own the 'not quite hardside but not cloth either' type of suitcases they are selling nowadays? Are they sturdy? I want to order a new suitcase (or two) and might get one of those.

Gotta get after it! TTFN!

Day 429 - Midweek Already!

Greetings, Gentle Bloggers!

The week is flying by.

Charlie is safely home and eating oatmeal in the kitchen. He is on an oatmeal kick in the mornings instead of sausage and biscuits. Big difference!

I have to give a demo this afternoon of the reporting project I've been working on for the past couple weeks.

I would think that means it would need to be READY BY THEN, yes? It's 'kind of' ready, but hopefully by afternoon will be more to my liking.

I guess the most important thing is to be accurate, not necessarily pretty.

It's been cloudy and humid here with temps around 80. I think we are getting rain later today. I just looked at the radar and the rain isn't even in Tennessee yet.

No time to blog more this morning, I've got to get on the road and get things ready for that demo. TTFN and have a nice Wednesday!

Day 428 - The Return of the Prodigal Charlie

Greetings, Bloggy Absentees!

Charlie returns today from his trip away - 2 days fishing, then 3 days at a computer conference up at Fall Creek Falls State Park. Nice life, eh? I'm jealous!

I spend a lot of money shopping when he's away. Hang on - I spend a lot of money shopping when he ISN'T gone too. Oops.

This weekend is a GOOD excuse to shop, and I didn't even know about it! This weekend, Tennessee is waiving sales tax (which is just under 10 percent!) for many school-related items including clothing (yahoo!) and computers.

I thought the 'no sales tax' holiday was supposed to occur for summer back-to-school shopping, but I guess whenever it is held, people will take advantage of it!

Details can be found at:

http://tn.gov/revenue/salestaxholiday/

However, it's only TUESDAY, so why am I writing about the WEEKEND already? I could have saved a whopping $7 if I had waited till this coming weekend to buy my items, however, the items I bought would likely have already been sold. Darned if you do and darned if you don't.

While Charlie was away, I hit Macy's 75% off clearance sale (ok, I admit, I didn't even KNOW they were having a clearance sale but I was at the mall to buy shoes and went in to use the restroom), and hit Payless Shoes Buy-one-get-one-half-price sale too.

I wanted some slip-on sneakers to keep at work to use when I walk around the building. Most of the time I wear Minnetonka moccasins, and walking around the building on the concrete wears the stitching off the toes of my moccasins! I have several ruined 'toes' and they are NOT inexpensive shoes! I asked the 'shoe repair' guy at the mall if he could restitch them, and he would charge $7 per toe. I don't know if I'll do it or not. Buddy Joe has a great shoe repair guy, maybe I need a quote from him too.

Gotta go, folks! TTFN!

Day 427 - Monday, Monday, Can't Trust That Day

Greetings, Monday Morning Blah-gers!

Ha! I've used that before but maybe you missed it.

I looked on the internet for 'Monday morning blah' material, and found this...

The majority of heart attacks occur between 8 and 9 a.m. on Monday morning, (the beginning of the work week), reported Max Wyman, of the Vancouver Sun, on March 16, 1998. He should know--he was one of them! I had often heard this statistic but had never conducted any research of my own. At times, I was sure it was an urban myth, concocted by some fellow professional speaker to help illustrate a platform point about reducing stress. So before repeating this data, yet again, I enquired with the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario--sure enough, a member of their External Relations Branch confirmed it's true! These findings are supported by multiple medical studies, one of the most respected of which is the ALLHAT study (an international, multicenter study funded by the American National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Cooperative Studies Program, with multiple teams across Canada and the U.S.A).

Anyway - I'm heading off to the office early today, because I have a deadline this week and a lot to do to meet it. (Yeah yeah, deadlines schmedlines).

I'm slogging down a cup of coffee, and 'mostly' have a lunch for myself ready to go. I made chicken salad yesterday for me and Charlie, so I'll have some of that, and I have a container of fresh pineapple mixed with fresh mango, a yogurt, and whatever else I throw in there.

Sounds good, eh? Well, take care of yourself and your heart on Monday morning! TTFN!

Day 426 - A Click and a Promise II

Greetings, Blogregation!

It's nearly 7pm and I've had a busy day of swimming, shopping, and eating. Charlie was home for a while this morning and is now at a conference till Tuesday.

I have become addicted to MANGOES.

I have 60 Minutes on - why can't Andy Rooney have his eyebrows trimmed? Inquiring minds want to know. And why are his lips reminiscent of a turtles jaw?

Guess what? I found an article about his eyebrows. Go figure...

Gotta watch the Amazing Race! TTFN!

Day 425 - A Click and a Promise

Greetings, Bloggy Sure-Glad-It's-Saturday-ers!

I woke up this morning with a headache and sore neck - I think I slept badly. I also fell asleep with the food channel on and turned it off around 3am.

Charlie called last night and had a GREAT day fishing yesterday on Kentucky Lake. He said he caught about 13 fish (bass, stripe, crappie), and big ones. The other guys did well too. They are filleting, freezing and saving the fish for a family fish fry at a date 'TBD' in the near future.

I got up to swim and went back to bed. I also think I've been snoring because my throat was all tight and 'yucky' - I can't tell if I'm catching a cold in my throat or whether it's allergies or just sleeping wrong and snoring in the night. Go figure.

Now it's 9am and I need to get a move-on to accomplish all my Saturday shopping and swimming goals.

Blog at ya later! TTFN!

Day 424 - Bribery vs. Bloggery

Greetings, Bloggy Weekenders! It's Friday! Hooray! This has been quite a week.

March in a circle, unsupervised, because I can only leave a note then need to get back in the kitchen.

There were some Regal Cinema movie super-passes (good for any show, any time, never expiring) handed out at work yesterday. My manager gave me her two passes in exchange for a peach cobbler for her husband's birthday celebration today. It's baking in the oven now.

As you recall, a few months back I traded another peach cobbler (peach=power I guess) for use of the employee of the month parking space.

I am getting VERY good mileage out of peach cobbler around here.

Charlie left this morning for his annual fishing weekend with 'da boys', and I might just get some use from those movie passes this weekend!

TTFN and have a great weekend!

Day 423 - Finally, So Long to San-Loser!

Greetings, Bloggy Idol-Watchers! Today is a day of celebration!

Sanjaya was finally ousted from the American Idol finalists. He didn't belong there, and 'nuff said about that. So long, San-Loser.

Quote of the day:
I'd love to be a pop idol. Of course, my groupies are now between 40 and 50. Kevin Bacon

By the way - I was on a plane flight once (Chicago to LA) with Kevin Bacon. He wore a neon pink baseball cap. He looked exactly the same as he does on TV.

Some random acts of blogginess:

Tonight is Survivorage-Night! Nancy - don't forget to tape it.

I usually stop at Sams Club on Thursday nights (for some reason), so I might end up picking up dinner there.

I am wearing a shirt today with olive and black horizontal stripes. I feel very W-I-D-E in it. Maybe that W-I-D-E feeling is due to all the FOOD I consumed while in New England, not my SHIRT?

Today might be payday at work, I can't remember. (Great memory, Karen)

I have a scratchy throat going on - I hope I didn't catch a cold on my trip.

That's about it for Thursday, folks! Have a good one and start looking forward to FRIDAY!

Wednesday, April 18, 2007

Day 422 - Midweek already!

Greetings, Bloggy Dearests!

It's Wednesday, which is 'Hump Day', and I am a day late and a dollar short.

I caught up on a little sleep last night, but woke up for a while at 3am. Sheesh.

It's quarter past 6 already, so this is going to be short and not very sweet. I don't think I can stand looking at 'Beavis and Butthead' for very long anyway.

I look forward to catching up on stuff at work, as I lost a day on Monday and don't want that to impact my project timelines.

Quote of the Day:
I am one of those people who thrive on deadlines, nothing brings on inspiration more readily than desperation. Harry Shearer

Have an inspired vs. desperate Wednesday and TTFN!

Day 421 - I made it back - barely!

Greetings, Twofer Tuesday-ers! I am groggy this morning after having just a few hours of sleep.

I *almost* didn't make it home yesterday at all - there was a maintenance issue on my plane from Atlanta to Nashville.

They finally put us on another plane after we all (including the pilot and crew) had to change gates and concourses to get to the new plane. My 6:10 departure turned into a 10:20pm departure. I made up an hour changing from Eastern to Central time, tho!

I pulled into the garage here at home at 11:40pm last night - just before midnight and past my bedtime!

I'd say the worst travel issues I've had in the past year or two were on Delta - sorry, Delta, but it's true. However, Charlie is taking a sub for his lunch that I bought with my Delta meal voucher. ;-)

I am also going to start avoiding commuter prop planes that only have 9 rows of seats! When we landed (this was on Friday the 13th), I announced 'Thank you for flying the Delta SCOW'.

Gotta go to work, gang! Have a nice Tuesday and it's nice to be home, finally!

Monday, April 16, 2007

Day 420 - Where oh where has my intinerary gone?

Greetings, Bloggy Travelers!

I wish I were a traveler, but I can't get out of Providence.

At the moment, my plane is delayed and according to the news, the PVD airport is closed. My plane was supposed to leave at 8 this morning but right now there is a tentative departure time of 1pm this afternoon.

I don't exactly know why they think the flight will go when the airport is CLOSED, but I'm too dumb to argue.

Wish me luck, folks! TTFN!

Sunday, April 15, 2007

Day 419 - Nor'Easter the week after Easter

Greetings, Blogregation! Well, guess what happens when you fly on a Friday the 13th weekend?

I'm having a nice visit in New England, but Delta has cancelled my flights for this afternoon due to the big storm and 40-60 mph winds coming in.

Delta has rebooked me and I am confirmed on another flight tomorrow that changes planes in Atlanta.

I *hope* that these new flights will be able to fly, but nothing is certain yet! I have the feeling I'll just have to play it by ear and hope that I make it back tomorrow.

I just haven't had good luck lately with airline travel!!! Sheesh. I was on hold last night for ONE HOUR AND TWENTY MINUTES, just trying to get a Delta agent on the phone to change my flights.

I've had to notify my boss, notify the family, change my flights, and I still need to call the 'park and fly' place and tell them I'm not arriving at 11.

That's all the news for now! I'm at my sisters, my daughter is hanging out with us, and we're watching movies and eating popcorn. TTFN!

Day 418 - Wok and Roll, Dudes!

Greetings, Bloggy Travelers!

I am here in New England, safe and sound, and Charlie is still in Tennessee, getting stormed on (if you keep an eye on the weather).

Charlie sent me this photo of the dinner he made last night - fish, cornbread muffins, cole slaw, and sweet potato fries!

Wow! Charlie is turning into a cook!

Changing subjects - I need to tell you about my plane trip yesterday.

The first plane (Nashville to JFK) was a commuter jet with four seats across (two and two with an aisle down the center). There were only 13 rows of seats, and I was in the very last row.

My flight from JFK to Providence was even smaller. I was on a prop plane with four seats across (also two and two) except for the last row which had five seats across like a school bus. The whole plane had only 9 rows of seats. Again, I was in the very last row. Yuck.

My plane was 40 minutes late into Providence, due to 'commuter gate chaos' at JFK. They reuse the same gates for many different flights, because your boarding process consists of walking outside into the cold onto the tarmac, following a zig-zagging line of people to (hopefully) the right plane, and boarding your plane by climbing a portable staircase.

The best part about my plane change at JFK was the 'Wok and Roll' restaurant where I bought a spring roll and a club soda for a snack. ($4).

After I arrived, we went to one of my favorite restaurants here (Perellas) for dinner. We ordered a large plate of calamari for an appetizer, and also had their crusty bread and roasted garlic with it.

I had littleneck clams in garlic and oil for my entree, and a side of 'eggplant rollini', which was one of the most delicious foods I've had in a long time.

Very thinly sliced and breaded eggplant was stuffed with proscuitto and ricotta cheese, rolled up, and baked with just the right amount of sauce and cheese. OMIGOSH... I don't have words to describe how good it was.

My daughter also had the clams, and an antipasto salad. My son-in-law had 'Steak ala Papa', and my son had 'Steak ala Mama'.

After that, I pretty much crashed from food coma, which is understandable. TTFN!

Day 417 - Off I go, into the wild blue yonder

Greetings, Bloggy Travelers!

It's Friday but I'm not at work! March in a circle.

I'll be flying on a commuter jet like this later this morning. I change planes in New York.

I hope my connection works out all right, because I'm not familiar with JFK airport at all. I haven't taken this particular set of flights before, but I figured for $160 round trip, I'd try it!

I've got 'dinner out plans' with the family, and I'm sleeping over at my daughter and son-in-laws house in Massachusetts. We've got a fun weekend planned - visiting and eating. ;-) What else would we want to do???

Gotta go get in the shower, TTFN and have a great weekend!

Thursday, April 12, 2007

Day 416 - Survivorage Night!

Greetings, Bloggy Waiting-for-the-week-to-enders!

Today's photo is of the beautiful ocean - I don't know where this was taken but it could be anywhere tropical or along the Gulf.

Note how clear and turquoise the water is! AAAaaaaahhhh.

Charlie and I are meeting some people (including Buddy Joe) after work tonight for dinner. It'll be fun.

Tomorrow morning I fly out for New England for the weekend (yes, I am flying on a plane on Friday the 13th, dumb butt that I am).

I'll try to blog from wherever I am, if only just to tell you what I am EATING. ;-)

TTFN, I am going to do a bit of packing this morning!

Wednesday, April 11, 2007

Day 415 - Midweek Already!

Greetings, Bloggy Mid-Weekers!

Half the workweek is done and I've got to catch up!

Today's photo, kindness of Aunt Nancy, is of the beautiful Point Reyes National Park and Seashore in California.

Talk about breathtaking and spectacular!

You can hardly see them, but there are elephant seals all over the beach!

http://www.pointreyesseashore.com/prsl/PointReyes/park.html

I need to spend more time at our national and state parks. Nature ROCKS and I don't want to miss seeing some of these beauteous sights!

When my older sister was little, she said (when the cat had caught a rabbit and brought it into the house): 'I hate Nature'.
My mother, in her gentle way, said: 'Well, we're part of Nature'.
My sister replied: 'I hate DEAD Nature'.

That said, I'll make this short and go try to finish that difficult code I am working on.

Tuesday, April 10, 2007

Day 414 - Taxes are IN THE MAIL!

Greetings, Bloggy IRS-Contributors!

My tax return is outside in the mailbox, that's one thing that can be checked off the list! AAAaaaahhh, peace of mind at last...

Today's LOVELY photo of the Smoky Mountains was taken by our very own buddy Joe this past weekend.

This is just SPECTACULAR! Thank you so much, Joe!

Yesterday was a tiring day at work, but today I feel optimistic that I am going to make good progress. (Does that mean I'm setting myself up for a fall? Maybe!)

I didn't swim yesterday, and I didn't swim Sunday, so now I feel like Jabba the Hut. Maybe I'll get over to swim after work today instead of staying late.

It is 32 degrees but we are supposed to 'warm up' to a whopping 60 degrees - I already miss our 70's and 80's from two weeks ago.

Have a nice Twofer Tuesday and TTFN!

Monday, April 09, 2007

Day 413 - Monday is Fun-day if Your Taxes are Done

Greetings, Bloggy Tax Preparers and Tax Procrastinators!

It's Monday and I just need to make a copy of my tax return to file away, and I can mail it. Aaaaaah...

It's a beautiful thing.

WHY I procrastinated over it this year I am not sure - maybe because I had two W-2's and an unemployment 1099 to deal with, a new set of bank accounts in addition to the old ones, etc. Dunno!

I hope everyone had a great Easter! Charlie and I went to see the movie '300' - it was pretty good if you like LOTR-style battle scenes!

By the way - I never saw so many six-packs outside of a liquor store! Those Spartans sure weren't sparse in the muscle area, and they didn't (apparently) think much of clothing either.
;-)

Let's hear it for the Spartans! Hoo-rah!

After the movie we had an awesome dinner at Chili's - they have a triple combo with ribs, smothered chicken, and grilled shrimp. It was deeeee-licious and I am NOT getting on the scale today.

Have a nice Monday and TTFN!

Sunday, April 08, 2007

Day 412 - Happy Easter, Happy Easter!

Greetings, Blogregation! Happy Easter!

It's Easter Sunday and I didn't go to swim this morning. I didn't wake up until 6:30, which was after I'd wanted to leave the house, so I slept in!

It was TWENTY degrees this morning with a hard frost. Some of our shrubs have wilted, and the flowers on our ornamental cherry tree have been 'bit'.

Here is a great picture of a coconut covered Easter lamb cake, isn't it cute?

If I recall correctly, we had one for the first time at my paternal grandparents house - Mom, is that right? We liked it so much that we bought the mold to make them in.

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, I HAVE AN ANNOUNCEMENT. I HAVE FINISHED THE ROUGH DRAFT OF MY TAXES! I JUST NEED TO COPY THEM OVER, SIGN IT, XEROX THEM AND MAIL THEM OFF. THANK HEAVENS.

Joe, are yours done??? Inquiring minds want to know.

Charlie and I went to the Chinese Buffet last night and had a lot more than just the crab legs. I had a little bit of a lot of things, enough to give me a little bit of indigestion! Oops.

Today Charlie and I are going to the movies instead of consuming a big dinner. I think that is a better way to spend the afternoon instead of food-coma. What do YOU think?

Back to Easter subjects...

I think I've already mentioned this, but my kids found out the truth about the Easter Bunny when we were walking through K-mart. We passed a line of Easter baskets and I casually remarked (without thinking) - 'Oh, look, I think I got you that one last year'. Heather, in a shocked voice, said 'Moooooom!'. The truth was out.

Easter dinners have been spent at a variety of places over the years, most notably my paternal Grandparents house or my aunt and uncles house, both near Boston. More recently, my sister and brother in law have been hosting Easter dinner at their house in Rhode Island. There would definitely be a ham, and maybe another entree like turkey, roast beef, or lasagna.

I gained a pound just thinking about all the wonderful family meals!

Well, I've got a long to-do list before we leave for the movies, so take care and have a great Easter! TTFN!

Day 411 - Frozen-egg Hunts Galore on Easter Eve!

Greetings, Easter Egg Hunters!

There will be many Easter Egg hunts today for the children. As it is TWENTY-TWO DEGREES OUT, I feel sorry for the kids and their parents!

When the bitter cold arrived yesterday afternoon (with a strong wind), it kicked up a few SNOW FLURRIES HERE!

I passed two men trying to mow their lawns while snow flurries were flying around them. A VERY interesting sight if I do say so myself!

I saw two boys scurrying for home, their hoods up on their sweatshirts and their hands deep in the pockets.

Charlie made us a nice fire in the fireplace, and we had a cozy evening at home!

I'm leaving to go swim, but have a great Easter Eve, everyone!

Day 410 - GOOD Friday, and I ain't kiddin'!

Greetings, Bloggy Easter Weekenders!

It's a good friday and also Good Friday! March in a circle of palm fronds.

It's 32 degrees here, and they're talking about record-setting cold here this weekend, about a week after record-setting warmth. Mother Nature, please send us some averages, will you?

Charlie has the day off, the lucky dog. He is enjoying coffee and breakfast in the kitchen.

I have a deadline to look forward to, and some pretty complicated code to work out today. However, I am also enjoying coffee - in the computer room. Wish me luck.

I have sneakers (aka tennis shoes) on this morning. We get to wear sneakers at work today if we make a minimum $5 contribution for a Multiple Sclerosis fundraiser. I rarely wear sneakers, to tell you the truth, I prefer moccassins with no socks.

Are you an Easter Ham household, or roast beef, or lamb, or turkey? I would normally bake a ham on Easter, but I have had such a craving lately for seafood, I might just go for something like crab or lobster instead! Whaddya think?

We used to have lamb for Easter, but we asked our mother not to cook them anymore, they're too cute. We had a lamb cake instead, shaped like a lamb and covered with boiled icing and coconut fur.

I'll tell more Easter stories this weekend, IF I have time and IF I get my taxes done! TTFN!

Day 409 - Goodbye Gina and Survivorage Night

Greetings, Bloggy Idol Fans and Survivor Fans!

I was unpleasantly surprised when Gina got voted off Idol and *&^%$ Sanjaya is still hanging in there. I also don't like the 'short skirt' girl's singing, but I can't remember her name at the moment.

I saw a note on the web that starting next week, some Idol results shows are an hour instead of a half hour. The one hour shows are April 11th, 18th, and May 2nd. We now return you to your regularly scheduled blogram...

Apologies for all the short blogs lately, but life is short and so are my blogs. ;-)

This morning I am giving a 3 hour training class and haven't had time to prepare for it. I *might* have an hour or so once I get into work if nothing comes up beforehand. I might need to shut myself in the conference room and work in there.

Have a great Thursday, don't forget Survivor tonight! We are going to polish off the leftover pizza from Sunday night, so it'll be an easy dinner preparation. TTFN!

Day 408 - A Change in the Weather

Greetings, Bloggy Storm Chasers!

Here is a very unusal artistic interpretation of a thunderstorm, done in plastic. Cool, huh?

We had thunderstorms last night, starting around 10pm. They loudly announced the change in the weather, along with a nice light show.

Yesterday was 85 degrees, today is supposed to be in the 50's for the high.

Very different climate this week!

My new project at work this week is going fine, my old project is still lagging. When am I going to catch up?

I need to catch up on several things - like my TAXES! I am giving a training session tomorrow at work (all morning) on Microsoft Reporting Services - have I had time to prepare for it? Nope. Bummer! Guess I'm gonna wing it.

Have a great Wednesday and TTFN!

Day 407 - Springtime in Amish Country

Greetings, Bloggy Signs-of-springers!

I'm running late this morning, it's already quarter past 6!

Today's photo is of some beautiful and hard working plow horses in Amish country in Ethridge, TN.

They get their day of rest too on a Sunday, and were enjoying the beautiful weather. They seemed very friendly when we drove by.

They were shedding their winter coats and looked kind of shaggy, but even that was special.

We saw lots of knobby-kneed colts as well. They were SO cute! Maybe my sister has a better picture of a colt than I do.

Gotta go, folks! Have a nice Tuesday and TTFN!

Day 406 - Back to Work and Back on the Road

Greetings, Bloggy Commuters! It's Monday and it's time to get up and at 'em again.

After a delicious pizza extravaganza last night (OMIGOSH I have had the calories this weekend!)- we watched the 2-hour 'Amazing Race' show and then hit the hay.

My sister and brother-in-law are up and getting ready to hit the road when we leave for work.

I'll make this short so I can go visit - TTFN and have a nice Monday!

Day 405 - April Fool on ME!

Greetings, Blogregation! Happy Palm Sunday!

My sister went to swim with me this morning, I got her up at 5:45am. We just finished a monster-breakfast of homemade strawberry pancakes, bacon, loaded scrambled eggs with vegetables and cheese, toast and homemade jam, etc.

Today we are going for a scenic drive to Amish Country and on the Natchez Trace Parkway. The Amish don't do Sunday sales, but we can still see the beautiful farms and countryside.

My brother in law just played an April fools joke on me - he came in and announced I had a flat tire, and we all totally fell for it! HA! Charlie resignedly got ready to go outside and change it so we could take our 'tour' today.

Have a nice day, everyone! TTFN!
