Day 1440 - Ice and Sunshine!

Greetings, Blogregation!

It is almost 11 o'clock and I am still in my bathrobe.

Oops - fashion faux pas...

I wore my bathrobe, winter coat, the scarf Heather knitted, and winter boots outside this morning to take pictures of the ice with the sunshine on it.

Click on a picture to see the actual size - beautiful!

Not that I was worried about being outside with my robe on. The entire time I was outdoors, TWO vehicles went by. That's all - two.

I am proud of these pictures - birds in the trees, a birds nest full of snow, and ice, ice, ice on everything.

I have more pictures posted on flickr if you want to see them. I think the ice is SOOO beautiful, but of course it is hazardous for the trees and shrubs.

The sun is warm enough to start melting the ice, even though it is only 23 degrees.

We had company this morning - the next door neighbors DOG came over to eat the frozen bread we threw out for the birds!

That couldn't have tasted very good!

TTFN and have a nice, warm, ice free Sunday!

Day 1439 - Ice, Ice, Baby....

Greetings, Bloggy Weekenders!

The snowstorm turned into an ice storm yesterday afternoon, soaking all the snow with rain, and refreezing as ice, ice, ice.

For those of you privvy to the address, you can look on my Flickr site for more photos.

The temperature is 24 degrees. It looks like the horses next door can walk on top of the ice, but it is hazardous to walk on it!

We are not planning to venture out anywhere until the sun has come out for a while - which we think will be tomorrow!

Charlie and I did go outside briefly to take pictures. The newspaper never arrived this morning.

I am steeping a nice quart of tea (half green tea, half Tazo Passion tea) as we speak, and we'll enjoy hanging out at home and doing whatever we want that is indoors!

Have a wonderful Saturday, whether it is 'On the Rocks or Straight Up!'

Ha! Pretty funny, there, girl...

Day 1438 - Snow, snow, come out in the snow!

Greetings, Bloggy TGIFers!

It's Friday!

You know what to do- march in a circle chanting 'Fri-day! Snow Day! Fri-day! Snow Day!'

Yes, we are supposed to have a big snowstorm today - well, big for HERE. Here's a BIG snowman picture (not from here, off the internet).

Yes, schools are already closed, they announced the closings last night! I can imagine all the kids with their little faces pressed against the window asking 'Where is the snow?'

Yes, I went and bought milk and eggs yesterday, I didn't need any bread. If the weather looks iffy, I don't need to go out at all today.

I'll let you know later in the day if we actually GET any snow - you just never know around here.

Update at 5pm - YES - we are actually having a winter storm.

We have a few inches of snow so far, and it is sleeting or freezing raining at the moment. It is supposed to keep 'precipitating' until tomorrow sometime, so we'll see how it all ends up.

In the meantime, I have a big pot of soup bubbling on the stove, and Charlie and I are working on our tax returns. Doesn't that sound like fun?

TTFN, have a nice Friday, and a great weekend!

Day 1437 - Friday Eve!

Greetings, Bloggy Waitin' for the Weekenders!

Here is a picture of Savi - zoning out while playing with a fake ear of corn.

Yes, it is Friday Eve - which means it is Thursday. Friday is one day away. The media is enjoying broadcasting a 'looming weather event' for Friday, and winter storm watch.

Yesterday the highways were brined because MAYBE on Friday we are going to get some mixed precipitation. Seems a tad premature.

I don't know whether to believe it or not. Recently, as you recall, we had two days of no school from a mere dusting of snow.

Anyway - enough about the weather.

Have you rented any good movies lately?

Charlie and I watched 'The Ghost of Girlfriends Past' - a romatic comedy with a 'Christmas Carol' theme. We enjoyed it, and it cost a lot less than going to the theatre.

I'd appreciate some recommendations for good movies to rent - post your suggestions in the comments!

TTFN and have a nice Thursday!

Day 1436 - Midweek and Midlife

Greetings, Bloggy Middlers!

Charlie and I went to see the movie 'Legion' yesterday.

I didn't have high expectations for the movie, which was appropriate because it wasn't very good! It had the feel of a pilot for a TV series.

It wasn't exactly a horror movie or a zombie movie - but had elements of both.

The reason to go on a Tuesday is that the movie theatre has dollar popcorn and dollar drinks on Tuesdays.

The popcorn and the drinks are reduced size, but as we get two popcorns and one drink per person, it works out just right.

If you haven't figured out that just about ANY movie is fun to go to on a Tuesday, that's really what I've been trying to say.

Today I have an appointment to get an oil change and tire rotation on my Honda CRV 4-door color white. No popcorn involved.

TTFN and have a nice Wednesday!

Day 1435 - Tuesday Ramblings...

Greetings, Bloggy Ramblers!

I used to HAVE a Rambler, by the way...

Why have I posted a picture of a reindeer this morning? Is Christmas coming back for another round?

Well - just a few snow flurries yesterday (it is 29 degrees right now) and my brain has gone back to Christmas mode.

I dreamed last night that Santa had a new reindeer, and the poor things name was 'GONER' - (not to be confused with Donner). I wouldn't say much for his destiny, being a Goner and all.

Changing subjects to another rambling...

It seemed odd to me the other morning when I pulled up next to a delivery truck owned by Cape Cod potato chips! I kind of expected to see some seagulls around it.

Here I am in Franklin, Tennessee, with a Cape Cod potato chip company delivering Yankee potato chips everywhere... Are products like that diluting the Southern lifestyle? I'll bet they aren't even fried in LARD.

I was remarking the other day how many food options have changed in the years I have been living here. I can get Linguica and Chourico here. I can get excellent, chewy breads and bagels here. Great seafood is still a challenge, but I can get good oysters and cajun food here.

TTFN and have a nice Tuesday!

Day 1434 - Monday, Monday

Greetings, Monday Morning Blah-gers!

Miss Savi is going to make breakfast for us. Biscuits and jelly, please...

Soooo - are you happy about the outcome of the playoffs?

We enjoyed watching the games yesterday, which was also a good excuse to snack our way through the afternoon.

We enjoyed hot velveeta/rotel dip over multigrain Tostitos, pigs in a blanket, chips and dip, crackers and cheese, a relish tray, veggies, and fruit. I'm surprised I can move today...

So - if you didn't watch, it will be the Colts against the Saints in the SuperBowl. Fine with me.

It's the last week of January, folks - have you received your tax forms yet? I am still waiting for my W-2, then I can do my taxes.

Have a nice Monday - TTFN!

Day 1433 - Too much jelly on a biscuit? What?

Greetings, Blogregation!

Yesterday we saw a sign and ad for a real estate agent.

It was posted by the side of the road, which should be an indicator... The fact that I READ it was another indicator...

It read 'So and so is just too much jelly for one biscuit!'

What on earth does THAT mean?

Charlie's interpretation - 'Must mean he's the cat's ass'. This comment was just as difficult for me to understand as the jelly and biscuit line.

The cat's ass (and I apologize for writing the 'a' word), is not a term in my vocabulary.

However, after some research, I think he's correct - that both of these terms are supposed to mean that the agent is 'superlative' at what he does.

Comments, anyone? Biscuits, anyone?

Changing subjects to the playoffs...

Are you ready for the playoff games this afternoon?

Everyone I talk to wants a different set of teams. We'll see, won't we?

Gotta go! Enjoy the playoffs and TTFN!

Day 1432 - Weekend!

Greetings, Bloggy Weekenders!

The work week is over, and Saturday is here.

Yes, we are back to digging into the Family Photo Bin of memories. Here is another picture from Storyland in New Hampshire, and yes, that is me.

The one on the LEFT is me. The LEFT! The LEFT! Snow White? Yep, that is me. Snow White via cardboard cutout.

What's going on this weekend - any fun stuff?

Are you excited about the football playoffs this weekend? Who will win?

Some people think a matchup between Peyton Manning and Brett Favre would be fun, and some people think the Jets and New Orleans will end up in the Superbowl.

Have you BET on the winners? I don't have any bets, but someone at the pool told me they bet a whopping $5.

Changing subjects -

I should mention that our custom made omelettes at St. Thomas Hospital yesterday were delicious, and of course the ATMOSPHERE of the hospital cafeteria was special too! There were just as many hospital employees getting breakfast as visitors and patients. Employees can turn in a request and pick up their breakfast at a specific time.

My omelette had spinach, tomato, black olives, mushrooms, ham and cheese. Charlie's had tomato, peppers, onions, mushrooms, ham and cheese.

One of the maintenance workers dropped his key ring as they were getting up from the table after having breakfast. The other guy joked 'You'll have to sterilize that'.

Hospital humor, folks - direct from Nashville.

TTFN and enjoy your weekend!

Day 1431 - Friday, Hooray!

Greetings, Bloggy TGIFers -

Here's a sweet picture of Miss Savi, back in the fall on a hayride - which she loved.

Doesn't the fall seem like a long time ago? Winter is too long - I am ready for SPRING, SPRING, SPRING!

I am ready for daffodils, and the wam sun, and warm breezes, and flowering trees, and peeper frogs in the creek.

However - it's not spring yet.

The good news is that today is Friday, Hooray!

You know what to do - march in a circle chanting 'Fri-day! Fri-day! Fri-day!'

I have a doctors appointment today, and Charlie and I are going for breakfast before my appointment to St.Thomas's most excellent hospital cafeteria.

You can get a custom made omelette with your choice of ingredients for a paltry $2.99!

Do I sound like an old fogey to be happy about breakfast at a hospital cafeteria?? Maybe, but it is wonderful and an excellent bargain.

Have a nice Friday and a nice weekend - TTFN!

Thursday, January 21, 2010

Day 1430 - Has it stopped raining yet?

Greetings, Bloggy 'Sure Wish it were Friday-ers'! One more day, and it will be time to march again.

Here is another cute picture of Savannah - peeking out at us.

We had heavy rainstorms and thunderstorms yesterday, and there may be more today.

The creek behind the house was almost overflowing, and the fields look like ponds. Water, water everywhere, but the peeper frogs aren't peeping yet.

We have robins in the yard though. I don't remember if I saw any robins in December, but they are definitely here now.

There are also a lot of dead skunks on the road at the moment. I passed one last night (no, I didn't hit it) and I had to roll the windows down in the car because my car smelled so awful after I passed it! Now that is BAD, when the smell stays with your car after you are far away from the skunk-age.

So - the thought for today is - let your productivity stay high, and your emissions stay low today...

Hey that reminds me... Postscript - I saw an updated fortune cookie the other day when we were out for my birthday. It mentioned getting a letter or EMAIL! I guess fortune cookies are catching up with the times.

Gotta go - ttfn!

Wednesday, January 20, 2010

Day 1429 - Midweek and Midlife

Greetings, Bloggy Middlers!

It's midweek already - where did Monday and Tuesday go?

Congratulations to the winner of the Senate race in Massachusetts, the underdog Scott Brown! No, I don't want to discuss politics on the blog, by the way.

It's a rainy day today, gray and drizzly.

To brighten things up, here's a cute picture from Thanksgiving week that I haven't posted yet.

I gave Savi this outfit, it has a bunny on the front and snowflakes on the sleeves and slacks.

Product review coming up...

I bought a new disposable battery powered toothbrush yesterday - a two pack of the Colgate 'sonic' style.

I like them! First of all, they are much quieter than my current Oral B cross action battery powered toothbrush.

The 'sonic' is a bit different, if I press too hard I can feel the sonic vibrations all through my head, so I brush more gently with these. I am hoping that means I won't wear out the brush so fast, as I have a tendency to do.

Anyway - I am rambling on here - and need to go get some tea brewing.

Product review #2 - I am addicted at the moment to Starbucks Tazo Tea, Passion flavor. It really doesn't have any TEA in it, it is herbs and flowers and such, and no caffeine. It really is delicious.

Gotta run! TTFN and have a nice Hump Day!

Tuesday, January 19, 2010

Day 1428 - Twofer Tuesday

Greetings, Bloggy Twofer Tuesdayers...

If you had yesterday off, you probably feel like it's Monday. Don't be fooled, it's not!

Here's another family photo. Mom, I assume this is in Dexter Maine? I look like I'm around 2 or maybe less.

My older sister is on the left, and I am on the right holding the big chunk of snow, which I will probably EAT.

Speaking of eating, one of my favorite foods at the moment is blueberry pancakes.

For a healthier pancake, try the Aunt Jemima whole grain blend pancake mix, it is delicious. I haven't tried the Fiber One pancake mix, but that might be good too.

I have real maple syrup from Maine, but I also buy sugar free pancake syrup, and the sugar free varieties actually taste good nowadays, thanks to miracle substitutes like Splenda.

That reminds me - I need to go eat breakfast! TTFN and have a nice tuesday!

Monday, January 18, 2010

Day 1427 - Monday - or - Moanday...

Greetings, Monday Morning Blah-gers!

Yes, it's Monday - but lots of people have today off for King Day. I won't complain too much.

MLK's birthday was actually the day after my birthday, if you don't already know.

Taking a break from MY childhood photos, here is a cute photo of Miss Savannah, rock-in' out.

I don't think those are even real rocks, are they? Maybe they are lighter than rocks, and not quite as dangerous if you bop someone on the head with them...

Even so - it must be lots of fun for the kids to pick up the faux rocks and pile them into the dump trucks.

When we were in Maine, I showed Savannah how I could pick up rocks and drop them into puddles. She picked it up right away.

Of course, it was way too cold and way too dirty to do that for very long, but she enjoyed it. And she walked right INTO the puddles, where I stopped at the edge.

Changing subjects... Guess what I did to keep myself from writing the wrong year on my checks?

I got a debit card and stopped USING checks. Ha! Sad but true.

TTFN and have a nice Monday!

Day 1426 - Sunday already??

Greetings, Blogregation!

As seen on a church sign - 'Gods retirement is out of this world'.

Here is another favorite childhood picture - I am on the left, and my sister on the right.

Her sweater is so cute! I want one! Somebody find me a fuzzy, lambie-type, cotton ball hoodie that zips, please.

We are on a boat trip in Maine, Maine, Maine, but I don't remember where we were headed.

Please note the saltine cracker (or maybe bread)in my hand. I was a very carsick and boatsick kid and salty snacks went along with me on every trip.

I have had a wonderful visit with CD, and we'll be off to the airport later this morning. We bought out Harry and David yesterday at Opry Mills.

Harry and David in Cool Springs is having 50% off their clearance prices this weekend (I can hear people running out to their cars).

We bought every box they had of dark chocolate covered bing cherries (in a Christmas box), and indulged in a baked, pastry-covered brie cheese with artichokes, tomatoes and onions when we got home. It was absolutely delicious, and would have cost $15 but was $3 on clearance! Decadent...

Well - have a nice Sunday everyone! TTFN!

Saturday, January 16, 2010

Day 1425 - Happy Birthday Plus Two!

Greetings, Bloggy Weekenders!

Yes, it's ME, ME, ME again - older still, demonstrating my vast expertise in the bubble making realm.

Thank you, thank you very much, says Elvis...

Behind me is my grandparents cottage in Maine.

Seeing it reminds me of things like blueberry pancakes and chocolate donuts and soft boiled eggs in little plastic egg cups for breakfast. Also, the smell of pine trees and the ocean.

I'd better change subjects or I'll fall back into childhood memories for far too long.

We went to opening day of 'The Book of Eli' yesterday - I liked it. I'd give it maybe 3.5 out of 5 stars.

Then we came home and Netflix had delivered another Denzel Washington movie named 'Deja Vu'. I'd give that one only 3 stars at most, because the concept is pretty complex.

What are YOU doing this weekend?

Feel free to comment on the blog and let us know. TTFN!

Friday, January 15, 2010

Day 1424 - Happy Birthday plus one...

Greetings, Bloggy TGIFers!

It's Friday - the first Friday that I am a year older.

It doesn't feel any different, except I'd better start using more moisturizer on my skin, since I'm OLD and all...

You know what to do - march in a circle chanting 'Fri-day! Fri-day! Fri-day!'

I write that every week, and I don't know if anyone has actually done it yet.

So... Changing subjects back to ME and my birthday, here is another picture of ME, a little older than yesterdays photo.

Do you think I look like Savannah? I think I do sometimes.

Gotta run, have a doctors appointment later this morning.

Have a nice Friday and a nice weekend! TTFN!

Thursday, January 14, 2010

Day 1423 - Happy Birthday to Me!

Greetings, Bloggy Birthday Celebrants!

Yes, alert the media - it is my birthday. According to the farmers almanac, in ancient folklore, Jan 14 is 'propitious' for the birth of women.

And yes, the photo is of me with a tiger by the tail... That cat looks as big as ME, for heavens sake.

A funny coincidence - it was 14 degrees at the house this morning, on the 14th. I am not kidding.

My mother has already called and sung 'Happy Birthday' to me, so I have been sereneded and it isn't even 9am yet. I am celebrating with a foame' latte' made from Kona coffee from Hawaii. It is outstanding and delicious.

It isn't just my birthday, I have twin cousins born on my birthday, and a lady at water aerobics also shares my birthday. How about that?

I have opened cards from friends and family, have 2 new gift cards to spend, and our friends TY and SY brought over dinner last night! Another friend is here, visiting for a long weekend, and brought all kinds of goodies, including the Kona coffee.

So, I am having a wonderful birthday, and will have a great extended birthday weekend.

TTFN! Go ahead and celebrate if you feel like it!

Wednesday, January 13, 2010

Day 1423 - Birthday Eve!

Greetings, Bloggy Night Before Birthdayers!

Yes, it's true.

Tomorrow is the Bloggy Birthday Day. That would be mine... Several cards have arrived, that I have put away to open tomorrow.

Here is another cute photo of Savannah at the Childrens Museum, steering a ship - or thinking about it.

Company coming today - gotta go through the guest checklist and be sure we are ready!

Guest room ready? Check.
Towels and guest bath ready? Check.
Food stocked in the fridge? Check.
Flights checked so we get there on time? Check.

Changing subjects - did you watch the premiere of the new American Idol season last night?

I must say - I am NOT going to miss Paula AT ALL. Not for a second.

So much for that - I should also mention that I enjoyed the beginning of the new 'Chuck' season as well.

Gotta go! TTFN!

Tuesday, January 12, 2010

Day 1422 - Twofer Tuesday

Greetings, Bloggy Twofers!

Here's a cute photo of Miss Savi in action at the childrens museum, playing on a gigantic magnet board. Love, love, love that sweater, Heather!

The temperature finally made it out of the single digits last night. It was a balmy twenty one degrees this morning, and we are expecting a warm up for the remainder of the week. Hooray!

I am SOOO ready for that! I hate to wear a heavy winter coat. And gloves and such. I usually take my winter coat OFF in the car, and end up putting it on and taking it off a bunch of times.

I am going out to lunch today with the gang from work, and the place I chose (Baja Fresh) to meet for lunch appears to have gone out of business!

Goodbye, my favorite mango salsa! Boo Hoo!

Ah well - Sams Club sells delicious mango salsa anyway... Maybe I'll stop there and get some.

Have a nice Tuesday and TTFN!

Monday, January 11, 2010

Day 1421 - Monday, Monday

Greetings, Monday Morning Blah-gers!

Yes, it is Monday already... Beginning of the work week. Most unpleasant day of the work week!

If I could have Mondays off for the rest of my life, I guess I'd start to dislike TUESDAYS.

It is NINE degrees this morning, but the forecast for later in the week is going to be much better - 20's at night and 40's in the daytime. Yay!

We bought a mouse yesterday, so I can highlight much more easily today.

Have I mentioned that I finally found pretzel bread?

I found these pretzel bread rolls in the frozen section of the GFS Marketplace - which is a food service place. They are good, maybe not exactly what my MIND had envisioned, but these are the same ones that Blimpie subs uses.

I need to keep this short this morning, I spent some time DUSTING when I got up, and tossing out a few excess boxes (I have a lot more boxes to get rid of, by the way. I accumulate them and if I don't use them, I need to get rid of them).

TTFN and have a nice, WARM, Monday!

Sunday, January 10, 2010

Day 1420 - Still frozen in the South

Greetings, Blogregation!

As seen on a church sign 'A scripture a day keeps the devil away'.

This poor frozen dude looked like a good photo for this morning. I think the tie is a great accessory for a snowman, gives him that businessman look...

It is SEVEN degrees here - will it ever warm up?

Did I say we got a fuel delivery this week? 345 gallons for our January fill is a record. (That's not a good thing).

I have one funny story to tell.

Charlie went to the Spring Boat Show (that's funny already) this past friday at the convention center. Those shows are full of vendors selling boats, accessories, all sorts of things related to boating and the outdoors.

No, he didn't buy anything there...

What Charlie did NOT expect was a woman to approach him and ask if he was interested in purchasing BALLROOM DANCING LESSONS.

He laughed out loud and said to the girl 'I'd kill you! I'd step all over you till there was nothing left!'

That made her laugh... in a tentative kind of way...

TTFN and have a great Sunday! Stay warm!

Saturday, January 09, 2010

Day 1419 - All blah-ged out!

Greetings, Bloggy Weekenders!

I'm taking the day off today - my recliner and comfy blankie is calling me.

It is about 20 degrees with light snow all day (no accumulation).

Charlie and I are going to watch the playoff games today and tomorrow.

TTFN and have a nice weekend!

Friday, January 08, 2010

Day 1418 - Friday and No School

Greetings, Bloggy TGIFers!

Yes, here it is - the major snowstorm that has caused two days of snow outage in the school systems...

That is correct. Schools are out again today.

I would call this a dusting. What do YOU think?

However, it's Friday! Hooray! You know what to do, march in a circle chanting 'Fri-day! Fri-day! Fri-day!'

Charlie and I indulged this morning for breakfast - Southern style biscuits, hot from the oven with a thin slice of leftover filet mignon on them. YUM-O says Rachael Ray...

Where exactly did the week go? I can't believe it's Friday! The good news is that I got the Christmas tree down this week, swapped out some wreaths, and am about halfway through my 'to-do' list that I made earlier this week.

TTFN and have a nice Friday - even if there isn't enough snow for a snowman.

Thursday, January 07, 2010

Day 1418 - Snowstorm? Where?

Greetings, Bloggy Snow Day-ers!

I am running late because I thought we'd be snowbound this morning. All the schools decided last night to close, AND THERE IS NO SNOW HERE OR IN NASHVILLE.

There's half an inch of snow further north, but almost the entire state closed schools.

So the kids get a snow day today with NO SNOW to play in.

Sheesh.

Why didn't I choose meteorology as a profession? I could be highly paid to be WRONG MOST OF THE TIME.

Anyway - I need to attack my very long to-do list, so the blog will be short, with no picture.

TTFN! Snowstorm = Nostorm today.

Wednesday, January 06, 2010

Day 1417 - Get the milk and bread at all costs!

Greetings, Bloggy Middlers!

Savannah doesn't look too pleased in this Christmas photo - I think it's hilarious!

Speaking of Christmas - I FINALLY started taking Christmas stuff down yesterday, after procrastinating as long as possible.

Christmas towels, blankets, pillows - put away.

Christmas mantle decorations - put away.

Christmas tree and lights - on the to-do list.

It is SEVEN degrees here this morning, and the forecast for tomorrow is snow - our first snow of the year.

That means I MUST get to the grocery store (which I have been postponing for days). I can finally see some real estate on the refrigerator shelves after weeks of overstuffing the fridge during the holidays.

It is WEDNESDAY, which is senior citizen shopping day around here - which is an extra added attraction at the grocery store - hope I don't get run down.

Have a great Wednesday everyone, and don't forget milk and bread! TTFN!

Tuesday, January 05, 2010

Day 1416 - Another frozen day

Greetings, Bloggy Twofer Tuesdayers!

Yes, it's Twofer Tuesday and another day in the deep freeze - eleven degrees again this morning.

We are expecting a propane delivery this week -I called yesterday to double check because we are getting to the red zone in the tank. People who know me know that I usually hate to wear socks. Yes, I am wearing socks during the deep freeze. And hats - lots and lots of warm hats.

I performed a 'human parasite' move on Charlie last night - wrapping myself (and the sheets and blankets) against him like a tick so I could get warm.

Charlie was completely paralyzed. He said, in a very calm and content way... 'I can't MOVE. I can't BREATHE. It's awesome'. Ha!

Pretty funny, huh?

Well, I am running as slow as molasses this morning - so I'd better move along.

TTFN and have a nice Tuesday!

Monday, January 04, 2010

Day 1415 - Monday and Eleven Degrees

Greetings, Monday Morning Blah-gers!

It is ELEVEN FRIGID DEGREES HERE - and this is the SOUTH! What gives, Mother Nature? Is this a joke?

It is supposed to be unseasonably cold all week and more. BRRRRR....

This will be a no-frills kind of blog, because I have to use a touchpad instead of a mouse. I am using our new laptop and we forgot to buy a mouse yesterday for it!

That means I will struggle with functions like highlighting, cutting and pasting.

Anyway - I am tickled with this new laptop. It has a built in HP webcam (that I don't know how to use), is wi-fi capable, and all sorts of good stuff.

We are now using Windows 7 that I have never seen or used before, so it will be a bit of a learning experience but so far so good.

YES, we can check email, and YES I can write the blog, so all is well with the world.

TTFN and have a nice Monday (back to work for many today!).

Sunday, January 03, 2010

Day 1414 - Fingers Crossed

Greetings, Blogregation!

We went to the health club this morning, then SHOPPING.

Best Buy is busy configuring a brandy new laptop for us, but we managed to get enough malware OFF our current PC for me to post something on the blog and check email.

Hello everyone - Happy New Year, and if you don't hear from us, please CALL US on the phone.

We should be all set with the new PC tonight, but if not tonight, then tomorrow.

TTFN and fingers crossed!

Friday, January 01, 2010

Day 1412 - January 1st, 2010!

Greetings, Bloggy 2010-ers!

I love this photo - I am sure a lot of people feel like that this morning - but not US.

How were your festivities last night?

We met Buddy Joe at the Mellow Mushroom pizza place in Franklin, and had an awesome late lunch/early dinner.

I had spinach, pepperoni and cheese calzone - and it was absolutely outstanding.

You might not be able to read this if you have a hangover, but Buddy Joe ordered a cheese, onion, anchovy and PINEAPPLE pizza. And finished the whole thing. OMIGOSH.

Charlie ordered the house special pizza, which had a bit of everything on it. He also polished it off.

We then came back to the house, I made a cherry crunch dessert, and we watched football, had some snacks, and ALMOST made it till midnight. Charlie was the only one awake at 12 watching the Twilight Zone marathon in bed.

This morning - we got up bright and early at 7am, and went to the Cracker Barrel restauarant for breakfast. Another outstanding meal. If I describe ALL the food I will run out of room - suffice it to say that we had grits, biscuits, gravy, ham, sausage, bacon, fried apples, eggs, and MORE.

I may have mentioned that a Southern tradition is to have black eyed peas and hog jowl on New Years Day for good luck in the coming year.

Can you believe that Cracker Barrel served us a small portion with each of our breakfasts this morning? Good job, Cracker Barrel!

Happy New Year, Everyone - enjoy the day off and the coming weekend! TTFN!
