Day 404 - No time to blog, gotta go!

Greetings, Bloggy Weekend Warriors!

I have just finished (at 5:50am) my preparations for company! I even rewound the vacuum cleaner cord around the proper hooks instead of winding it on my hand and hanging it on there. Charlie will be proud.

I am going to go to Nashville to swim, then give my sister a call and make arrangements to meet them at their hotel or maybe the Opry Mills Mall.

No time to blog, gang, but have a great Saturday and I'll blog at ya later!

TTFN!

Update at 7:10pm - we've had a great day!

I had my swim in the morning, then met my sister and brother-in-law at Cracker Barrel. I had eggs, turkey sausage, wheat toast and my sister shared her pecan pancakes with me!

From Cracker Barrel, we journeyed to the Opry Mills mall, where we walked through the Aquarium restaurant, did some shopping, then headed to Franklin.

We drove past the place where I work, then through historic downtown, and then toured Carnton Plantation and the Confederate Cemetery. It was really excellent! We had a great time and it was a beautiful day.

http://www.carnton.org/

We finally got 'home' after 3pm, rested and watched some tv, and had a HUGE dinner.

I made:

Pork tenderloin
Baked potatoes
Pearl onions
Sauteed mushrooms
Amish corn
Multigrain bread
Garden salad
Butternut squash ravioli
Pesto and walnut ravioli
Spanakopita (spinach pie with filo dough and feta cheese)

We are suffering from food coma similar to post-Thanksgiving dinner. My sister says they are grateful for it. ;-)

Plenty of leftovers if anyone wants to drop in! TTFN!

Day 403 - Company on the way!

Greetings, Bloggy Weekenders! It's Friday!

Sail in a circle on the General Jackson paddlewheel showboat.

Guess what? My sister and brother in law have just made an unexpected appearance in Nashville, and they're staying at the Opryland Hotel!

They are going on the General Jackson today, and going to the Grand Ole Opry, and tomorrow they are coming to visit and will stay overnight tomorrow night and maybe the night after. Good thing the house is 'relatively' clean!

Anyway, I'll go through the 'guests coming' checklist, hide all the clutter, drop off my dry cleaning which was sitting on the guest bed, mail the packages that were on the kitchen table, and probably not get my taxes done again.

Gotta go, company is coming! TTFN!

Day 402 - Survivorage Night!

Greetings, Bloggy Couch Potatoes! (Oh, that would be me).

Survivor night is such a looked-forward-to night at our house.

I always know the plan for dinner (that would be pizza), and we look forward to watching what games the Survivors participate in, as well as whatever drama they might generate during the show.

Quote of the day from a cast member of the first season of Survivor:

I didn't watch Survivor 2. Colleen Haskell

By the way, Charlie always pronounced 'Colleen' as 'Coal-leen', which I thought was funny.

Gotta make this short, the project that I have been trying to finish by the end of the week just had a design setback (my bad) that I'm going to have to figure out a solution to. Good luck to me.

Me and 'da boys' that sit near me are all going out for lunch to a Mexican restaurant called 'Pancho's Place'. Hope I can find something low fat there!

TTFN and have a great Thursday!

Day 401 - Hump Day!

Greetings, Bloggy Rodeo Riders! Midweek already!

For some reason, I thought this was a nice blog photo for the day.

After many days of 80's temperatures (Nashville set a record high yesterday of 82), we are finally getting some rain which will keep the temps in the 70's today.

It is lovely to hear the rain, we have a drought already this year, we had a very dry winter after a dry season last year. And good news for us with our pyro-neighbor, there is a burning ban on right now.

We missed the spring weather somewhere along the way, maybe we'll still get some!

Everyone at work is already wearing sandals and short sleeved shirts and pulling their 'summer stuff' out of the closets.

Quote of the day:
When I was a kid, if a guy got killed in a western movie I always wondered who got his horse. George Carlin

Why does every kid want a horse anyway? It's a mystery, but they do! We had some small china horses when we were kids, and we loved them too. Kids and horses have a natural affinity.

Well, I've still got a lot of work to catch up on this week, so I'm outta here! TTFN!

Day 400 - Twofer Tuesday!

Greetings, Bloggy Doublers!

I bring you springtime on the isle of Capri in today's photo - nice, isn't it?

It's day 400 and I should have a very nice blog prepared to celebrate reaching another 'DOUBLE'-zero on the day counter.

Ain't gonna happen, though - because I am going in to work early so today's blog has to be short.

Sorry!

One newsflash - remember the brown-patterned capri pants from Chico's that were in the picture on yesterday's blog?

There is an auction for another pair (different size) on eBay right now - and the starting bid is $29.99. I think $4 is a much better price, don't YOU?

I am laughing all the way to the bank.

Well, gotta go! Love you bye!

Day 399 - Nope, Didn't get my taxes done

Greetings, Bloggy Last-work-week-of-the-monthers!

It's Monday (blech) and it's the last week in March. It's also the last week of the quarter. I have a busy week coming up, and I'm going to go in early today to work.

Nope, I didn't do my taxes. I swam and shopped instead, and even did some spring cleaning.

Highlight of my weekend - TWO, count 'em, TWO pairs of slacks from Chico's at Goodwill for a mere $4 per pair. One capri length, one regular.

Okay, you say, that's nice, but how much do they REALLY cost at Chico's? BETTER SIT DOWN.

I went to Chico's this weekend to check out the REAL prices, and the kind of pants I've been getting are around SIXTY-FOUR DOLLARS a pair. OMIGOSH!

I can't even afford their CLEARANCE prices - I looked through the clearance racks and most of the items were marked down to $49-$89 - WAY too high for me to even THINK about purchasing.

By the way - NONE of the sales people paid the least attention to me, I wasn't the 'well-heeled' designer type that was going to spend hundreds in there, and they knew it. Ask me if I care.

So, bottom line - in the time I have been Goodwill shopping the past few months, my most spectacular buys have been for Chico's, Talbots, and Liz Claiborne items, and I am very happy about that! Who can argue with SUCCESS?

By the way, yesterday I bought one of the most beautiful embroidered suits I've ever SEEN, much less OWNED. So... how much? $6.50.

Need I say more, except to say I'll be taking a picture of it, and I am going to pay the big bucks for the 'good' dry cleaners, I don't trust the $1.50 place with this suit...

Yep. It's that nice! TTFN!

Have a great Monday and a nice last-week-of-the-month!

Day 398 - It's Sunday - Will I get my taxes done?

Greetings, Blogregation!

Today's photo was contributed by my son, who took it on his cell phone in Westport, R.I. Thanks, Evan! Isn't it cool what cell phones can do?

The beauty of the ocean is always there, yet always 'new', isn't it?

I can just FEEL that day, crisp and clean and cloudless, with the sun sparkling on the water. MMMMmmm.

I am SO ready for some clam cakes and fried clams and clams casino and clam chowder and littlenecks in garlic and oil. Is that enough CLAMS for one blog?

Changing subjects back to Sunday - You know that I always read the sayings posted on the church signs as I go by them.

As seen on a church sign yesterday: "Come inside and get a faith lift". Ha!

I am GOING to work on my taxes today, and I might even log in to regular work and try to catch up on a project I am working on.

I slept late this morning too. Charlie left at 3:30 this morning to go to his son-in-law's. They are driving 6 hours to Bristol, TN to go to the NASCAR race that's on today. He'll have a great time but a LONG, LONG day.

I've also done a load of wash this morning, sent some email, and I'm on my second cup of coffee.

Have a great Sunday and enjoy the beautiful spring! TTFN!

Day 397 - Saturday and I ain't bloggin'

Greetings, Bloggy Weekenders!

It's just before 5pm, and since I haven't written 'da blog yet, I don't think I will.

Have a great Saturday and MAYBE I'll be more motivated tomorrow!

Day 396 - Thank Goodness for Friday!

Hello, Bloggies in Waiting for the Weekend!

It's FRIDAY! Hooray!

You know what to do - march in a circle! Chant Fri-day! Fri-day! Fri-day!

The photo to the left is someone's interpretation of springtime...

It reminds me a little more of having the post-happy-hour spins! (and no, I have not had THOSE in 25 years or so).

It's already after 6 so this will have to be short. I want to leave in time to go walking before work. Sometimes I make it, sometimes I don't.

HEY! I haven't even BOTHERED to get into THIS story yet, but remember our pyro-neighbor who keeps starting fires 'accidently' as he is clearing land to build his house on?

Well, they have started the house building process.

The property next door is 69 acres. What is the only spot on 69 acres that will perk AND have somewhat reasonable access to the main road?

RIGHT UP AGAINST OUR PROPERTY LINE, IN OUR SIGHT LINE FROM THE BATHROOM, THE OFFICE, THE KITCHEN, AND THE DEN, RIGHT NEXT TO OUR BACK FIELD WHERE CHARLIE LIKES TO GO AND PLAY AND ENJOY THE PEACE AND QUIET. There could NOT be a more inconvenient spot for US.

Good grief, Charlie Brown! I'm just trying to deny it until I see exactly where the house is going vs. the septic system. We may have to plant trees to block their view.

End of rant. Have a great Friday and a great weekend! TTFN!

Day 395 - Spring into Summer!

Greetings, Bloggy Sunlovers!

Yesterday may have been the first day of spring, but it hit 80 degrees here and this weekend is going to be over 80 degrees.

That feels more like May weather than March, but it is very windy.

Sorry Mom, I know you said it was TEN degrees in Maine yesterday!

I'm going to need to take the flannel sheets off the bed and put on regular sheets, or we won't be able to sleep, we'll sweat to death.

Two people on my team are on vacation, and three people on my team are in training 3 half-days this week. That leaves three of us, including me to do whatever might need to be done.

So, will I handle that situation? Go out to lunch!

I'm going out for lunch with some folks to Panera bread at lunchtime, and I'm going to have my favorite - soup in a bread bowl and a nonfat cappuccino. YUM-O!

Hey - exercise tip - when my manager needs to have a chat about a project or a catch-up chat, we've been going outside and walking instead of sitting in a closed conference room. It is a great way to get away from the work environment while we're doing work!

Have a great Thursday - hope you didn't miss Survivor last night!

Day 394 - First Day of SPRING SPRING SPRING!

Greetings, Bloggy Springers!

Spring hath sprung!

Okay, not REALLY funny - but maybe a little funny?

There's a girl at work who loves toys - she was playing with someone's Slinky the other day.

I lent her one of my puzzles - (a little clear plastic box with a horseshoe and BB-sized balls that you try to get inside the horseshoe) to play with.

I heard her trying to solve it yesterday because the BB's make a rattling noise.

I need to leave early this morning because I have a meeting at 7:30am. Crack of spring dawn, eh?

Spring quote of the day:
If I had my life to live over, I would start barefoot earlier in the spring and stay that way later in the fall. I would go to more dances. I would ride more merry-go-rounds. I would pick more daisies. Nadine Stair

Happy Spring, Everyone! I hope the readers in Northern climes can see signs of spring by now!

Day 393 - First Day of Spring EVE!

Greetings, Bloggy Spring Hath Sprungers!

Okay, spring doesn't officially start until tomorrow, but I can't wait!!!

Here is a lovely spring scene photo that I downloaded off the web, isn't it picturesque?

I want to go there!

Please note the stone bird house and the color of the trees and shrubs reflecting in the water. Ahhhhh....

I've always wanted to go to Washington DC for the cherry blossom festival. I love flowering trees!

When I was a kid, I used to EAT the flowers. Maybe I'll make it to the festival when I retire?

By the way, speaking of wonderful gardens, if you go to San Diego, don't miss Balboa Park next to the San Diego Zoo - it is a gorgeous park with a lot of exotic trees. It also has a theatre and restaurants and museums.

It's after 6 already and I am going to make this short. Have a great Two-fer Tuesday!

TTFN!

Monday, March 19, 2007

Day 392 - Pick a Peck of Monster-Peppers

Greetings, Monday Morning Blah-gers! Time for another work week!

Today's photo is of the MONSTER Peppers I bought at Wal-mart SuperCenter yesterday. They are so worth 78 cents apiece!

I laid them out on my grill - four peppers nearly covered the grill surface.

The object in between them is a grapefruit, not an orange. Each pepper is twice the size of a grapefruit, if not more.

In other words, they are bloody HUGE! I also bought some nice mushrooms there yesterday, if you wanted to know.

By the way, says Helpful Bloggy Heloise, if you have more peppers (or onions for that matter) than you can eat before they spoil, you can chop them up, put them in a plastic bag, and freeze them to use in any cooking you need to do.

No, you don't need to parboil them or 'prepare' them for the freezer. You can freeze mushrooms too, as long as you slice them first.

This ends your public service announcement. Have a great Monday! TTFN!

Sunday, March 18, 2007

Day 391- Bring on the food!

Greetings, Blogregation!

Charlie's newly-married daughter and son-in-law are coming for lunch in about an hour, so I have to make this short.

I've already been to swim and stopped at Wal-mart to get shredded cabbage for cole slaw.

Menu for lunch:
Chili
Cornbread
BBQ chicken (I bake it first with sauce then grill it afterwards with more BBQ sauce for the grilled flavor)
Three bean salad with a jar of marinated mushrooms thrown in
Cole slaw
Peach pie and ice cream

Today at Wal-mart I bought the absolutely biggest green peppers I've ever seen, they must have had the miracle-grow stuff added to the soil! I need to go take a picture of them. I also bought some gorgeous and huge white mushrooms - don't know why the 'veg' looked so great today!

I didn't get to say that yesterday I went to the grand opening of a new Goodwill in Spring Hill, Tennessee. I am wearing next-to-new Aerosole slides I got there, and got some other great stuff too, like a pair of Chico's slacks, brand new.

I assume the Amazing Race will be on tonight, and Apprentice. I'd better check that BASKETBALL won't be on instead. Let's hear it for Vanderbilt moving on, though!

TTFN!

Saturday, March 17, 2007

Day 390 - Saturday! Swimming, Shopping, Sensational!

Greetings. Bloggy Weekenders! It's turned cold here for the weekend, it's 29 degrees.

It's Saturday and I'm about to go out the door to swim. Charlie is meeting a buddy of his later this morning to archery shoot.

I'll blog more later and tell you about my day. TTFN and have a nice Saturday!

Friday, March 16, 2007

Day 389 - SpongeBob Square Paws?

Greetings, Bloggy Pet Lovers! It's Friday!

Take your pet for a walk in a circle.

Today's photo is of my daughter's cat, Tom.

Tom has developed an attraction to her kitchen sink scrubby-sponge.

He jumps up onto the sink, grabs the sponge, and takes it away to play with it.

He growls at his brother (cat) if he wants to play with it too - no fair not sharing, Tom!

The downside - when it's time to do dishes, WHERE is the SPONGE?

Tom hides it from Heather so she won't take it away.

I vote that Tom gets his own sponge, and the dishes get another one that he doesn't like.

Whaddya think?

By the way - there wasn't any Survivor last night - BASKETBALL took over.

Next week, Survivor is going to be on WEDNESDAY, don't forget!

TTFN and it's almost the weekend! Happy St. Patrick's Day Eve? Wear green to work!

By the way - sorry about all the whitespace on this entry, Blogger still screws up if I add photos after I've written text and then I have to go try to fix it. TTFN again!

Thursday, March 15, 2007

Day 388 - Thursday and Survivorage

Greetings, Bloggy Survivors of the Work Week!

Today's photo is of Bradford Pear trees, there are MANY MANY of them here in Tennessee, lining the driveways. They are gorgeous in the spring, truly gorgeous!

Tomorrow is Friday - it seems that this week went by fast. Maybe it did for you too, or maybe not!

A group of us from work are going out for Greek food at lunchtime today, so I've made Charlie's lunch but only cut up a grapefruit (red, not pink) for myself this morning.

Favorite greek food? Gyros, souvlaki, spanakopita, baklava. Too bad I can only get one at a time!

Quote of the day:
Never eat more than you can lift. - Miss Piggy

Brandon was voted off last night on Idol, not Sanjaya. Drat.
And who will be voted off Survivor tonight? In my opinion, it's time to get rid of 'Rocky' from Boston, he gets on my nerves.

HA! Have a great Thursday, everyone!

Day 387 - Midweek and Spring Hath Sprung

Greetings, Bloggy Midweek Marvels!

Spring Hath Sprung!

It hit EIGHTY degrees here yesterday (twenty degrees above normal), and the high today is expected to be 77. Then we will get a round of showers and be back to the 50's for the weekend. (darn!)

The forsythias are blooming, and some of the early flowering trees. The daffodils are still flowering, and I think I mentioned I have seen dandelions too.

I grabbed this photo from the web, isn't it pretty?

Everyone's allergies are kicking into high gear for pollen season, my eyes are scratchy and I'm not even a big allergy sufferer!

Idol update - those two great female singers, Melinda and 'Kiki' were wonderful last night on American Idol. I do hope they get rid of that can't-sing 17 year old Sanjaya Malakar, I absolutely cannot stand to see him make it through another week.

Gotta run! Have a great Hump Day!

Tuesday, March 13, 2007

Day 386 - Twofer Tuesday!

Greetings, Bloggy Two-Fisted Drinkers!

What do you think of this 'Starbucks Mobile Unit'? Unbelievable! I love that!

I sometimes have both a hot drink and a cold drink going at work at the same time - usually a bottled water or green tea, and also a hot coffee or hot tea. Dunno why, I just do.

I saw a DUNKIN DONUTS ICED COFFEE commercial here in Tennessee yesterday! OMIGOSH!

That is definitely a first. I LOVE iced coffee - but all the cream in it makes it a tad on the decadent side to have with any regularity.

So, I have coffee on the brain this morning, because I filled my sweet n low container from my big box of sweet n lows, then looked down and I had filled my own coffee mug, not the mug I keep in the cupboard to use as a sweet n low container. Oops.

I'll confess another idiot move from yesterday, since it's Twofer Tuesday! We have a break room where the coffee station is. They have a pretty neat system where you slide the filter basket into a contraption that grinds the coffee beans fresh for you to brew coffee with.

My confession- I started the coffee cycle on a pot of coffee yesterday morning, completely forgetting to put the COFFEE GROUNDS in the filter basket! I made a nice pot of hot water. Sheesh.

My brain must have spring fever - either that OR I haven't recuperated from my cold yet and my brain is still fried. OR I'm just a dumb-butt. (Evil Bloggyman nods knowingly).

I am running way late this morning, it's quarter past 6! TTFN!

Monday, March 12, 2007

Day 385 - Time Change - Are We Awake Yet?

Greetings, Bloggy Sleepyheads!

Are we awake yet after the time change? No? Me neither.

Even looking at pictures of yawns made me yawn, unfortunately.

I went to the grocery store and the teenaged grocery baggers were all complaining about how TIRED they were yesterday after the time change. They were trying to outdo each others stories about how little sleep they had had that week.

I made eye contact with the middle-aged lady running the cash register and mumbled - they don't know what TIRED is, do they?

I said to one of them - 'Don't worry - when you're older you'll have time to sleep and then you won't be able to sleep'. I'm sure that was comforting for them.

Hey - can you believe Rob and Amber (pronounced 'Am-buh' by Rob) were eliminated from the Amazing Race last night??

And all because of ONE SPELLING ERROR (the word Phillipines)! Rob even SAID he hoped it wasn't a spelling thing, and then they didn't double check it! They will be kicking themselves in the butt over that for a long time. They would never make it as programmers if they can't double check their 'variables'. Ha!

I would rather see that Mirna and Schmirna team got kicked off - they get under my skin.

Anyway - have a nice Monday and TTFN! Don't forget to set the clock in your car!

Sunday, March 11, 2007

Day 384 - Going out the door

Greetings, Blogregation!

Just a click and a promise here - I'm out the door to go swim at 5:57- actually 4:57 if you don't count the daylight savings time change.

We saw a homemade sign posted next to the highway yesterday, saying simply - HELL IS HOT. Well, thanks for that weather update, whoever you are.

Gotta go! Have a great Sunday and I'll check in later on and tell you if I'm working on my TAXES.

Update at 5pm (used to be 4pm!). No, I have not started my taxes yet, but I MOVED the paperwork into the Den where it would be staring me in the face, calling to me.

I have sea scallops marinating in a plastic bag in the sink, and since I'm starving, maybe I'll start supper soon. We are having teryaki grilled scallops and onions with baked sweet potatoes and teriyaki vegetables.

TTFN and we'll have fun watching the Amazing Race and Apprentice tonight!

Saturday, March 10, 2007

Day 383 - Happy Saturday!

Greetings, Bloggy Saturday Celebrants!

I am just saying 'Hi' instead of writing a 'real' entry - I've been on the go since 6am this morning and we are just about to leave for a 1.5 hour drive to a 65th birthday party celebration.

I've had a lovely swim, did a little STUDYING for work, and haven't worked on my taxes that I need to do!!

My cold is finally better today - not gone by any means, but finally I am not miserable with my nose running every single second. Even people at work were telling me yesterday to get OVER this cold this weekend!

TTFN!

Friday, March 09, 2007

Day 382 - Friday, Wonderful Friday!

Greetings, Weekend Wanna Be's!

It's Friday! Sneeze in a circle. I have had a busy week this week AND a cold, so I am ready to recuperate this weekend.

I am running out of time this morning, I am usually done and gone by 6:10. Apologies for a short blog. Just make something up, please and pretend you read it here.

My nose is running and I didn't get much sleep because every half hour I needed to blow my nose. Does that mean my cold is breaking up and getting better once it runs like a faucet? And cold or not, I still need to swim because I ate at Fat Mo's yesterday - again!

It's going to be SEVENTY-FIVE DEGREES this afternoon!! I saw a dandelion yesterday (daffodils have been up for a while), and some of the trees are budding.

We have a 65th birthday party for a friend to go to tomorrow afternoon - the wife of one of Charlie's fishing buddies. I need to remember to fill out a card and bring a gift and drinks and all that.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone, and if you're here in the South, enjoy this perfect weather!

Day 381 - Survivor - of the work week!

Greetings, Bloggisimo's!

It's Thursday and the work week is almost over. I worked late the past two days, with a cold - whassup with THAT?

Why do I have to be so busy when I'm sick - it must be Murphy's intervention.

Today's photo illustrates the style of Minnetonka moccasins I just bought on eBay.

I have several pair (okay, more than several to tell the truth) of Minnetonkas, and I love them dearly. You see, at my new job I can wear moccasins with NO SOCKS, which I love.

This is a style I haven't tried before - whaddya think? It looks a tad more like a loafer than a moccasin.

Evil Bloggyman: That's right. SLACKERS like you should wear LOAFERS, get it, girl? Yeah, I get it - thanks, EB.

Another comment about my moccasins - I have several pair that, due to my walking around the building at work and scuffing my toe against concrete - the stitching is coming out right in the front. The rest of the moccasin is still perfect. I am going to have to take them to a cobbler and see what they would charge me to restitch the toes.

OR I could experiment with trying to stitch them myself, but I really don't think it would LOOK right. What do you think, gentle readers? Do I learn a little leatherwork or pay someone to do it?

Don't forget - Survivor tonight! Enjoy your Thursday and TTFN!

Day 380 - Midweek and still Froggy

Greetings, Bloggy Hump-Dayers!

Yes, I still have that old frog in my throat this morning, and it's kind of sore.

When I was leaving work last night (and I was really busy yesterday and left work 45 minutes late) someone said 'go kill that frog tonight'. ;-)

A couple people said they didn't recognize my voice as me when they heard it. No surprise there!

I just guzzled a bottled water before I had my coffee - I'm gonna drown that darn frog, or at least I'll be hydrated!

I turned the shower curtain around to the correct side this morning, I feel much better that it isn't backward. Trust me, almost nobody would have noticed but ME.

Evil Bloggyman - Hey Girl, you sound like a frog and you're OCD - nice combo!

Oops - it's 6am, I'll do a quote and that'll be it for this morning.

Quote of the day:
I'd kiss a frog even if there was no promise of a Prince Charming popping out of it. I love frogs. Cameron Diaz

TTFN and have a nice Wednesday!

Tuesday, March 06, 2007

Day 379 - Twofer Tuesday!

Greetings, Double Troublers!

Today is day TWO of my scratchy throat, but I'm going in to work so they don't think I'm a slacker. I can always bail out and go home again.

Working from home makes me eat too much - I guess I'm not a slacker, I'm a snacker!

This is going to be short because I'm running late this morning.

Totally changing subjects - do you want to know something that aggravates me? Shower curtain rings!

Holding my arms up and trying to fit the little tabs into the little holes is a pain, and THEN some rings clip shut and some rings have a notch that you slide them into.

The reason I am telling the story is this - I washed my shower curtains and rehung them. Guess what? I put the &^%$#@ shower curtain in the master bath back on the wrong side out, which means I have to unclip and clip all those awful rings again. BUT NO, NOT THIS MORNING.

Birthday or Christmas present idea, family - some shower curtain rings with 'anti-insanity' design - how about it? ;-)

TTFN! Love you bye!

Monday, March 05, 2007

Day 378 - Monday again!

Greetings, Monday Moaners!

Yes, it's Monday again and the start of a brand new work week.

Here is my vintage necklace I bought at the craft fair for $3. A STEAL.

The roses are quite heavy in weight and made from metal, with either paint or ceramic over them - the red is very bright. It is really pretty.

I am going to work from home today because my throat is scratchy this morning.

I hope I'm not catching Charlie's cold. I haven't had a cold since I can remember, it's been at least 7 months or more. I guess I may be due.

I need some chloroseptic stuff - you know that spray stuff that tastes like mouthwash? I need to run out and get some this morning. I wonder if that has any medicine in it to kill germs, or whether it just cools your throat. Dunno - this question is one of the mysteries of life.

Well, I'd better log on to work and let them know I'll be home this morning. TTFN!

Sunday, March 04, 2007

Day 377 - Sunday - Will I get my taxes done?

Greetings, Blogregation!

Just saying Hello on my way out the door to swim.

I want to work on my taxes when I get back!

Will I? Will I?

Tune in later to find out! TTFN!

I'm back!
Blogger doesn't want to space my text properly now that I've added photos - apologies for that.

Heather has asked for some photos of my craft fair stuff.
The first item is a stained glass heart that is hanging in the guest room - I bought two of them, the other is the color-reverse of this one.
The next items are a little felt easter gift bag, and a little easter bucket with a duck and a candle in it.
Totally adorable!
The last photo is another felt Easter gift bag, and a little tray with frogs on it.
I also bought a necklace and some other stuff.
TTFN again!

Day 376 - Saturday = Swimming + Shopping

Greetings, Bloggy Weekenders!

I'm leaving shortly to go swim, then I'll try to make it to the craft fair when it opens at 9am or soon thereafter. Don't want to miss any bargains!

Charlie is feeling a little bit better this morning.

Blog at ya later, gators! TTFN!

Update at 5:30pm - my feet hurt! I have been on the go since 6am, with one stop at home in the process.

I had a great swim and had the pool to myself for most of the time - that is pure luxury. (one glitch - when I got there my key card didn't work and there was a note on the door that health club members had to go get new key cards made - that took a few minutes but I got it done).

Then I ran a couple errands on that side of town and went to Taco Bell for lunch before I ever made it to the craft fair.

The craft fair was great, and I bought the following:

Something that I DIDN'T buy and wanted to - CHOCOLATE PEANUT BRITTLE!

OMIGOSH, it was so good, I just had the free sample and no more. Glad I have ice cream in the freezer or I might just feel sorry for myself.

After that experience I needed to go to the bank and get more cash.

I hope YOUR weekend is going as nicely as mine! TTFN!

Day 375 - It's Friday - Say No More!

Greetings, Friday Fans!

It's Friday, a full moon, and a new month! Gallop in a circle, you know what to do!

I just knocked my sliding keyboard shelf off it's track, and sat here holding it until Charlie came to put it back on... Oops.

Charlie came home from work sick yesterday, and is taking today off too - he has a really stuffy head-cold-thing going on. Feel free to post get well wishes. ;-)

Several of us at work are going out for 'caloric abuse' at lunch at Fat Mo's giant hamburger joint.

I am going to have a gyro though and try not to order their delicious chocolate shake made with real ice cream...

Tomorrow is the spring craft fair I've been talking about and looking forward to - maybe I'll take my camera and get a couple of pictures for 'da blog'. Hmmm - do I need to go to the bank before I go? Better not! ;-)

I had a dream last night that a former manager of mine (Bill T. if you used to work with me) was singing a little song about Schenectady, New York. Where on earth did that come from?

It's been a really busy work week, and I am SO ready for the weekend! TTFN!

Day 374 - It's March and it's Storming!

Greetings, Bloggy Storm Chasers!

March is coming in like a lion!

Rain, thunder and lightning arrived around 4am, and it's supposed to be an all-day storm event.

By the way - yesterday it was SEVENTY-FIVE DEGREES!

It was SO beautiful outside that I didn't want to go in! The temperature went from 31 in the morning to 75 in the afternoon - that's a hot flash for ya!

Highs this weekend - 40's. Sheesh.

I'm going to shut down the computer after I blog, so it doesn't get zapped by lightning.

Survivor tonight! I think the ads implied that someone may quit this week - wonder who? The guy with breathing problems - Papa Smurf?

American Idol update - the girls are WAY better than the guys.

My favorite girl at the moment - Melinda Doolittle, the backup singer from Brentwood, Tennessee (which is the town next to where I work).

My favorite guy - Brandon Rogers from California. He grins like Eddy Murphy, by the way.

Gotta go! Have a nice Wednesday!
