Day 1864 -Thursday = Friday Eve!
Greetings, Bloggy Waitin' for the Weekenders!
Here's Miss Adorable with her birthday flower in her hair. How could she possibly get any cuter?
I've been meaning to tell this story for a couple of weeks, but I keep forgetting it! I actually phoned Charlie and asked him to write it down and remind me to blog about it.
You might recall that I had a computer training class at work recently. We had a large, double training room full of people, but I knew most of them.
The man sitting next to me during class was a coworker who I know pretty well. We are all computer people, and if you know anything about computer people, they are often... unique.
So - while chatting before class, I began to notice something unusual about him.
I didn't beat around the bush. I just forged ahead and said 'Would you want me to tell you if you had your shirt on inside out? BECAUSE YOU DO!'
He politely excused himself for a minute, walked to the mens room, turned his shirt right side in, came back to class, and acted like nothing had ever happened.
Hope you have as much fun at your job as I do at mine!

Day 1863 - Midweek and Midlife
Greetings, Bloggy Middlers-
Here's another cute photo of Savi from one of my recent visits.
Changing subjects, Blogger has been giving me fits the last few days with too little or too much spacing.
First, everything was displayed as one long line with no line breaks, and I had to go back into it and add them after I'm done.
Then I was getting double spacing instead of single.
What is UP with THAT?
I dunno...
Guess I'd better quit while I'm ahead. TTFN and have a nice Wednesday!

Day 1862 - I Wish I May, I Wish I Might, File My Taxes Here Tonight!
Greetings, Bloggy Tax Preparers!
Oh. My. Goodness.
I finally finished my %^&*$$ taxes and they are ready to mail. Hooray!
Do you like my lemon yellow envelope and color coordinated Simpsons stamps? I do!
I hope the IRS agent who works on my return enjoys it too, then maybe they'll give me extra money. NOT.
Let me repeat...
I finally finished my tax return, approximately a month and a half later than I usually do.
Good grief, Batman!
Thank you to Charlie for assistance, motivation, form downloads, and knowing how to use our printer as a copier.
I even skipped water aerobics class yesterday so I could come home early, have dinner with Charlie, and finish those dad-gummed taxes.
Whew!

Day 1861 - Cloud Girlfriend, but no Cloud Boyfriend?
Greetings, Bloggy Cloud Followers!
Hey - have you heard of that new website called 'Cloud Girlfriend'.
You go to the website, sign up, and choose all the characteristics of your 'virtual beloved'.
Maybe you could name her Cloud-ette? Or Cloud-ia? Ha!
Once your Cloud Girlfriend has been created, she then posts messages on your Facebook page so people 'think' you have a real girlfriend.
I heard about it on the radio, riding in to work the other day.
Now tell me, why do they think that Cloud Girlfriend will work, but there is no Cloud Boyfriend option? I don't think that's fair.
Anyway - have a nice Monday, Clear or Cloudy!

Day 1860 - Showers and Showers
Greetings, Blogregation!
I had a great time at the WEDDING shower yesterday, which happened to be in between morning and afternoon RAIN showers.
It was for the daughter of my very good friend, so I did know several people there, which is a good thing.
We ate, and visited, and played a couple of games. The winner of each game got bragging rights and credit for special party gifts that also went to the bride. I think that was a great idea.
My favorite game was dividing into 4 groups and creating wedding gowns made from toilet paper (this photo is off the internet. I didn't take one of our gals' outfits but they were fabulous).
And I will say that the TP skirt for the girl in the group I was in unraveled JUST like the one in the picture. Drat. We even had the bouquet made from an empty roll with TP roses stuck into it. And TP jewelry, and TP rosettes on her sneakers too!
Another friend is a photographer, and she will be doing the wedding as well. Can't wait to see the pictures!
TTFN and have a nice Sunday!

Day 1859 - Stick-er that landing!
Greetings, Bloggy Weekenders!
Here's Savi - launching herself into space on the trampoline at gym class.
She really enjoys the dance and the gym. At the end of class, stickers get handed out.
Stickers must be a big deal, because Charlie's grandson also likes to get 'reward' stickers at preschool, and I just got him some to have at home.
It is supposed to be cold and rainy today with storms - I hope water aerobics won't be cancelled.
I have a wedding shower to attend in the afternoon, so I'll be busy all day.
Have a nice day, whatever you do!

Day 1858 - Friday is NOT the Pits!
Greetings, Bloggy TGIFers-
Here's a darling Miss Savi in the foam pit, but 'the pits' has nothing to do with FRIDAY.
FRIDAY is my favorite day of the week - not counting Saturday and Sunday.
You know what to do, march in a circle chanting 'Fri-day! Fri-day! Fri-day!'
There is Friday Frost this morning, after Tennessee had temps in the 80's earlier this week. I've had to get some summer clothes out of the closet, but now the winter stuff is necessary.
We even had a fire in the fireplace last night, the house was chilly and the temps got down to the 30's. Brrrr!
TTFN, have a nice Friday, and a nice weekend!

Day 1857 - Couch Potato (or Potatoe) Part Deux
Greetings, Bloggy Spuds!
I just saw an article on yahoo (from mainstreet.com) that says that Tennessee leads the country as the state with the least active adults.
Oh gee - how proud are we of that?
If you want to read the article, here is the link:
http://finance.yahoo.com/family-home/article/112390/states-most-couch-potatoes
And what is UP with this picture using the infamous 'Potatoe' spelling?
I have a busy couple of days coming up at work, so I'll be glued to my desk for the rest of the week.
I plan to 'tune out' distractions using my noise-dampening headphones and playing music. We'll see if that works.
Guess I'd better get to it. Hope you have a great Thursday!

Day 1856 - Smoke and Mirrors...
Greetings, Bloggy Middlers-
Here's a cute photo of Miss Savi, eating shrimp on her birthday. She really loves them!
It's the middle of the week already - how did that happen?
I have another cute story from the locker room at the gym this week:
A mother and her very young son came into the locker room.
The young son was somewhere between 3 and 4 years old.
He was very chatty, but very focused. All he wanted to talk about was... SMOKE ALARMS! He started looking for the smoke alarm in the locker room.
He asked his mother if the sprinklers in the ceiling were smoke alarms, and said that smoke alarms were usually on the ceiling, and that his school had smoke alarms, and that HIS smoke alarms were RED.
Mom found the locker room smoke alarm on the wall above the sinks, and pointed it out to him. Now satisfied that the locker room was safe, her son was then ready to get changed for the pool!

Day 1855 - On the Banks of Plum Ridiculous!
Greetings, Bloggy Stun-Plums!
I went to Walmart yesterday to pick up some plums while they were on sale for 52 cents a pound.
That's right - 52 cents a pound. I bought a bagfull, and put them in one of those plastic produce bags that all stores have.
At the cash register, I looked at my receipt, and my plums had rung up as nectarines, which were not 52 cents a pound.
I NICELY pointed out the error to the clerk, who then tried to say that I must have nectarines mixed in the bag with the plums, that she rings things up by the code on the item.
I must have said five times 'There are only plums in the bag, nectarines are ORANGE, there is nothing ORANGE in the bag".
The clerk opened my produce bag and took out EVERY SINGLE PLUM, looking for the mystery nectarine. Of course she didn't find any, because I had bought PLUMS, like I said.
She also told me about all the OTHER people who mix different kinds of fruit in the same bag, which to ME implied that she thought I had done the same thing. I told her again that I had purchased PLUMS, and there were only PLUMS in the bag. She never agreed with me.
I guess I got my plums, and a free bag of wind as well! HA!

Day 1854 - Gimme a Venti Leche, and Hold the Coffee!
Greetings, Monday Morning Blah-gers!
As overheard in the locker room at the health club:
Woman #1: "I HAVE to get to Harris Teeter today! I've been getting my kids milk for the last couple of days in the Starbucks drive through."
Woman #2 (incredulous): "What??!!"
Woman #1: "I go through the Starbucks drive through and order 2 Venti Milks for my kids!"
Woman #2 (incredulous): "Couldn't you just stop at Publix?"
Woman #1: Well, I'm going to Harris Teeter right now.

I told that story later yesterday at the Starbucks where I grocery shop. They thought it was simply ridiculous, and gave me a complimentary coffee.
Hope you have a great 'First Monday of Spring'!

Day 1853 - My Aurora Borealis Hurts!
Greetings, Bloggy Aerobicizers!
Before we left for the visitation and funeral yesterday, Charlie and I went to the health club.
The water aerobics instructor could not come yesterday, so GUESS WHO taught the entire 9-10am class, from warm up to stretching afterward?
Yep. You guessed it. Me.
That is a first for me, actually having to think of what to do next, and count out loud, and time our intervals using the clock.
I completely forgot to have anyone take their heart rate, but we don't always do that.
I noticed that all the extra talking and counting while I was exercising made me have to breathe a lot more deeply.
I cracked everyone up referring to my anterior tibialis as my 'aurora borealis'. I asked my students some very important health questions like 'Raise your hand if you've ever wanted to be a mermaid!'
Yes- everyone raised their hand.
Charlie and I will be right back in the pool this morning, then I have laundry and errands and shopping to do this afternoon.
TTFN and have a nice Sunday!

Day 1852 - Farewell to a Friend...
Greetings, Bloggy Readers -
Charlie and I will be attending the funeral today of our friend, Mary, who passed away earlier this week.
She was the wife of one of Charlie's fishing buddies, so we've known her for a very long time, but saw her only rarely.
It is very appropriate that I heard something on the news this morning that Prince William said, while mourning the victims of the earthquakes in Japan and New Zealand.
He said "My grandmother once said that grief is the price we pay for love. Here today, we love, and we grieve."
What a perfect thing to say. If you can grieve, you know you have loved.

Day 1851 - Fisherman's Catch!
Greetings, Bloggy FisherFolk-
It's Friday, Hooray! You know what to do, march in a circle chanting 'Fri-day! Fri-day! Fri-day!'
Look at this big ol' 5 pounder that Charlie caught yesterday! That bad boy was 24 inches long, too.
Wowie, Kazowie, Batman! Charlie looks rather pleased, doesn't he?
Charlie usually fishes for catfish using raw chicken - but this catfish was obviously a hunter at heart.
Charlie caught the catfish using raw VENISON that had been in the freezer too long.
Charlie released it, by the way, a catfish that big isn't really good to eat. It went on it's merry way, and is probably busy bragging to the other fish about his venison lunch yesterday.
TTFN and have a nice weekend!

Day 1850 - One Bath, Two Bath, Red Bath, Blue Bath...
Greetings, Bloggy Bathers!
I had the singular experience yesterday of having a full drink spilled on me NOT ONCE, BUT TWICE YESTERDAY DURING THE SAME MEAL.
Spill #1 was a coworker accident, Spill #2 was a waitress accident.
What are the odds of that happening? By the way - the photo is missing the ice cubes.
The manager gave me my lunch for free, which was very nice. He walked over to our table and said in a loud voice 'WHO HAD THE BATH?'
I suggested to the manager that he post a sign near my seat naming that unlucky spot 'The Bermuda Triangle'.
I am very lucky that the clothing I wore yesterday dried fairly quickly and the dampness wasn't obvious. Wish me luck - tonight I have another team function at a Mexican restaurant!

Day 1849 - Just a Little SPLAT of Spring!
Greetings, Bloggy Buggies!
Driving home last night - the first audible BUG SPLAT of spring hit my windshield. Isn't that nice?
The good news - I didn't feel guilty about it at all. Killing bugs is NOT something I could possibly feel guilty about.
The bad news - if there's one bug, there's 500 million-bazillion bugs just waiting to annoy me in various ways.
Ants around the sink make me crazy.
Spider webs in the corners are creepy.
Wasps buzzing in the windows and crawling under the siding are gross.
Crispy, crunchy beetles scurry and scuttle in scary ways.
Every now and then I have a bad dream where bees or ants or other bugs infest the house I am in. Do you ever have dreams like that? Awful!
So - in retaliation for those bad dreams, I'll be sure to turn on my lights and attract those little critters to my windshield when I'm driving.
Just another month or two and there will be a zillion cicadas hatching here - I'll try to get a picture of them clogging up the windshield wipers.
TTFN and have a nice, bug-free day!

Day 1848 - Guilt, Guilt, Guilt...
Greetings, Bloggy Guilt Trippers!
Sometimes I feel guilty about the most ridiculous things.
Do you do that too?
Maybe I need a psychiatrist, but the ones I have met are WAY crazier than ME. I mean that.
I feel guilty when the kitchen floor needs washing, or even when it needs sweeping. I remain guilty until it's done, and then a day or two later I start again.
It's only ME, Charlie couldn't care less about the darned old floor. When I moved to Tennessee and REALLY cleaned the kitchen floor for the first time, Charlie remarked 'I didn't know the floor could BE that color!'
The most ridiculous thing I've felt guilty about lately was CITRUS ZEST. That's right - citrus zest. I had some great citrus fruits recently, which I really enjoyed. However, I was nagging myself internally that I 'should have' captured and frozen some of the wonderful zest from the citrus peels instead of throwing them away, though I VERY rarely use citrus zest.
Is that the most ridiculous thing EVER to feel guilty about? Citrus zest... DUH...
TTFN and I hope you can be calm, stable, and guilt free today!

Day 1847 - The case of the Pickled Girl Watcher
Greetings, Monday Morning Blahgers!
I realize and accept that it is nearly impossible for men to ignore women in motion. Motion includes:
Walking... Jogging... Breathing...
I was driving to the health club on Saturday morning. A group of female runners were jogging by on the left hand side of the street.
The man in the car on my right was driving straight, but had his head turned to the left the entire time he was passing those women. I don't know how he kept his car in the lane, because he was not looking at the ROAD at ALL.
Okay - ha ha. I had several lights to go through, so I met up with the jogging herd again about a half a mile away. This time they were passing a worker who stands (every day!) on a particular corner in a pickle costume, holding up a sign for a local deli.
The pickle costume completely hides the person inside, but I will bet my life that it was a man. The entire time the women were approaching, he faced them and watched them approach. After they passed, he turned completely around so he could watch them jog away as long as possible.
Comments from the peanut gallery? Have a nice Monday!

Day 1846 - Spring ahead! Or at least a foot!
Greetings, Bloggy Daylight Savers!
Did you remember to set your clocks ahead last night? We did!
It's Daylight Savings time again (though I wish they would just give it up and go on standard time year round).
It's going to take me a few days to adjust to the dark mornings, and losing an hour of sleep.
Are you tired out yet?
Charlie's daughter had a birthday on Friday, and we're taking her (and her family) out to eat this afternoon. First we'll go get our swim in, so we won't feel so guilty about it!
Hope you have a great 'Spring' Sunday, and TTFN!

Day 1845 - Party Memories and Potty Memories...
Greetings, Bloggy Weekenders!
A week ago today I was going to Savi's dance class, then her birthday party. It seems longer than a week ago.
I'll miss going to dance class today, though I'll enjoy getting back to my water aerobics class.
That's Savi on the right, by the way!
Changing subjects to the potty...
We had not one but TWO commodes with issues. On one of them (the one I use the most) we had to turn the water off underneath it due to a leak. On the other, it would periodically run and run, wasting water.
Yesterday Charlie arranged for the plumber to come, and he fixed both commodes AND also a faucet washer. I am absolutely thrilled about that.
Party ON and Potty ON, dudes and dudettes!

Yesterday Charlie arranged for the plumber to come, and he fixed both commodes AND also a faucet washer. I am absolutely thrilled about that.
Party ON and Potty ON, dudes and dudettes!

Day 1844 - Friday, Hooray!
Greetings, Bloggy TGIFers!
Here's a picture of Miss Savi with 'Triple G' - that is 'Great Grandpa Gill'. I managed to take it when EVERYONE's eyes were closed or partially closed. Good one, eh?
It's Friday, Hooray!
You know what to do - march in a circle chanting 'Fri-day! Fri-day! Fri-day!'
Can you believe it's been an entire week since I left for New England for Savannah's birthday weekend?
I don't know where the time went, but the weekend is almost here again.
On my to-do list for the weekend... Number one reminder is the time change coming up this weekend! Don't forget to 'spring forward' and set your clocks.
I MUST get my taxes in the mail. I want my refund, and I can't get it without filing my taxes. So, bloggy readers.... will I do it? Taxes into the mail or not?
Other weekend stuff - water aerobics class, de-cluttering the house, kitchen floor duty.
Wish me luck! TTFN and have a great weekend.

Day 1843 - Wishing, and Hoping, and Waiting
Greetings, Bloggy Patients and Bloggy Virtues! (get it - patience is a virtue)
Do you believe that George R.R. Martin's 'A Dance with Dragons' is actually going to be released on July 12th of this year? Do I dare HOPE that this is the truth?
For SIX LONG YEARS I have waited for this book. That is longer than I have been writing the blog.
I really don't think I am a very patient person, and this wait has gotten on my last 'patient nerve'.
For SIX LONG YEARS I have wondered and worried about what would happen to my favorite characters, all the while cursing my least favorite characters.
For SIX LONG YEARS I have read and reread the first 4 books in the series. For SIX LONG YEARS I have bought extra copies to give to friends, and recommended the series to others.
PLEASE, George - release me from this pain and RELEASE THAT BOOK! As I remarked to the clerk in the airport bookstore on Monday 'If I don't find out what happens to Arya, I'm gonna die'.
GIVE ME THAT BOOK, GIVE ME THAT BOOK, GIVE ME THAT BOOK.

Day 1842 - Midweek and Midlife
Greetings, Bloggy Middlers-
Here are some little 'animal magic markers' that I bought for Savannah's birthday. I tried to bring some activity-related toys that she could use during the weekend.
The animal markers were almost a flop, because they were supposed to make NOISES when you snapped on the cap, and they didn't want to work right away!
First- the cap was extremely hard to take off or put on, but they did get easier as time went on. The cow finally did moo, the pig did grunt, the dog did bark, and the sheep did baaa. We also learned that they would make noise if their heads were turned without taking off the caps.
Savannah got markers, stickers of all sorts, coloring books, and more. Oh - and GRANDMA (that would be me) even forgot one thing I had bought for her - a pink hoodie with a monkey on it. I'll need to get that in the mail soon.
TTFN and have a nice Wednesday!

Day 1841 - Heigh Ho, Heigh Ho, It's Back to Work I Go!
Greetings, Bloggy Dancers-
What could be cuter than this little ballerina? Not much, that's what!
I flew home yesterday, having breakfast in one airport, and lunch in another. Okay, not just breakfast - breakfast with a DUNKIN DONUTS iced coffee. Heavenly.
I truly believe that an iced coffee made by someone who is unfamiliar with iced coffee can't be as good as one made by someone who drinks it.
Another customer and I agreed on that while we were waiting for our breakfasts.
One mistake I made this weekend was not bringing enough reading material with me. I brought a book and finished it, bought another book at Sams Club the next day and finished it, then purchased yet another book today in the Borders Book Store at the BWI airport.
I had a great weekend though, and now I'll have a short week coming up! TTFN!

Day 1840 - Time to Fly Back to Nashville, But It's Sad To Go!
Greetings, Monday Morning Blah-gers!
Blah is probably a good word for today. I had such a wonderful time this weekend that it is hard to leave so soon!
Look at that sweet little birthday face - could anything be cuter? Good job, Mamma Heather!
I'll be back this summer for a nice, long trip, but I will miss Savi and the family in between!
Thanks to sister and brudda in law for their hospitality, again and again!
Thanks to my mother and stepfather for the long trip from Maine with chicken pies, and thanks to Auntie Cheryl for coming to visit each day and bringing yummy goodies for all.
Miss Savi is officially THREE - what a big girl! I'm so glad I could be here for her birthday weekend.

Day 1839 - Birthday Celebration # 2!
Greetings, Bloggy Birthday Well-wishers!
Today is Savi's 'real' third birthday. She got lots of great presents yesterday, and I saved a few little things for today as well.
Some extra special presents:
Princess EVERYTHING - shoes, jewelry, costumes.
Tea party EVERYTHING. She showed me her room yesterday with her new 'big girl bed', and asked me 'Would you like some tea?'
A mini shopping cart complete with a list, fake food, money and COUPONS.
She's such a big girl now! Here is her picture with her birthday flower in her hair, cinderella earrings on, and TWO talking 'princess' necklaces to boot.
We have plenty of leftover pizza and cake to keep right on celebrating with, and various family members will be back today for more visiting.
I'll be sad when I have to print my boarding passes today for tomorrow's flight, but I'll have another wonderful day today for sure!
TTFN and enjoy your Sunday.

Day 1838 - It's Birthday Time!
Greetings, Party All The Time-ers!
Today is Miss Savi's birthday party - her actual birthday is tomorrow, but what does that matter?
Heather got her a 'Disney Princess' cake at Sams Club - not like this photo, but it's close enough.
I went to dance class this morning, and it was very fun. Then I got to see Savi's new room and 'big girl bed', and we watched some of Disneys Sleeping Beauty. She has named the Disney fairy godmothers 'Bibbity, Bobbity and Boo'. That is hilarious!
New things from my last visit - Savannah talks a lot more, and says her own name. Extremely cute.
She also knows what a birthday is this time, and is familiar with what a birthday party consists of. She knows that a birthday party has balloons and a birthday cake. She knows that a birthday cake has candles on it and that there are PRESENTS for the birthday girl.
What more could you ask for?
Have a nice day, and we will too! TTFN!

Day 1837 - Off to the Land of the Clam!
Greetings, Bloggy Frequent Flyers!
It's Friday, Hooray!
You know what to do - march in a circle chanting 'Fri-day! Fri-day! Fri-day!'
I'll be aboard the Quahog Express today (well, translate that to Southwest Airlines) to beautiful Rhode Island - pronounced 'Ra-d-eye-land'.
I am off to Little Rhody for Miss Savi's THIRD BIRTHDAY this weekend. That will be SOOOO fun.
It's been just about 3 months since I was there, and I know Savi's gotten cuter the whole time I've been away.
I was trying to describe the Rhode Island accent to someone at work yesterday, but it was easier just to imitate it.
Anyway - have a great Friday and a great weekend, I know I will!

Day 1836 - Just a Pinch Between Your Cheek and Gum-BO!
Greetings, Bloggy Gumbo-Layas and Truth Tellers! (Ha!)
I have a HUGE newsflash for you.
Papa Boudreaux's Cajun Cafe, my absolute favorite Cajun restaurant, is COMING TO FRANKLIN IN APRIL!
They are going to be located right across the street from the Mellow Mushroom pizza place.
Here's a couple of articles about it from the newspaper.

Day 1835 - Once, twice, three times a-LAZY...
Greetings, Bloggy Middlers!
Did you remember to turn your calendars to March yesterday? I did.
Guess what?
I'm lazy sometimes...it's true. Reading Garfield made me that way...
Yesterday I said to Charlie 'Charrrllliiiieeeee, I can't reach my purse!'
He said 'Where IS it?'
I answered 'In the kitchen'.
He brought it in to me, being the nice guy he is!
TTFN and have a great Wednesday!

Day 1834 - Pillow Talk
Greetings, Bloggy Pillow Pals!
These beautiful and colorful works of art are handmade, hand-designed and hand-embroidered pillows made by my sister, Marcia.
Marcia - THESE ARE SO LOVELY, I am thankful I got to share them with the blog readers.
The next to the last photo is MY pillow - MINE, MINE MINE!
