Day 2058 - The Kings of Heartbreak??

Greetings, Bloggy Listeners!

Please feel free to disagree with me, but when it comes to heartbreak and suffering set to music, the Kings in my book are Roy Orbison and Dwight Yoakum.

They have been kind enough to share their pain with us in song, and I for one appreciate it. Nobody PREFERS to be sad, (do they?) but when I hear their music, feeling bad almost feels good!

Song after song, wailing their sorrow, betrayal and misery, the Kings of Heartbreak haunt me with their musical tales of woe.

I'd like to think they weren't 'REALLY' unhappy - but I think they must have been at the time. How can you possibly write songs like that if you haven't been there?

Anyway - I don't mean this blog to be dark, I am just telling you what I think! Cheers, Kings of Heartbreak, you guys are the best.

Comments:
Certainly Roy Orbison -- Sitting on the Dock of the Bay is classic! The all time heartbreaker is Hank Williams' I'm so Lonesome I Could Cry. George Jones' songs are heartbreaking too. Roger and I listened to that music often so I seldom listen to the pre-1994 country music because it hurts too much.

My favorite is Roy Orbison, too! I don't know why I don't have a CD of his. Maybe Santa will bring me one!

A sad day without Heather, Savi, and Evan! We had such a good weekend--the only down side was I came down with a cold, all the time worrying they would catch it. Today I'm not doing much or going anywhere. Savi observed that when I coughed I would cover my mouth with Kleenex, so she put Kleenex over her dolly's mouth and told her to cover her mouth when she coughed. Evan told me he noticed she was pretending to cough into a Kleenex. She does and says so many cute things. One day I wore my cotton slacks--Nantucket red color and a top of similar color, and she exclaimed, "You look lovely!" Another favorite saying was "That's so cute!". Savi's just like you, Karen, waking up in such a good mood. She finds everything interesting! I didn't check the blog yesterday so hadn't seen that lovely photo of Savi until just now. Milkweed pods never looked so good. Thanks for all the info.

George Jones is the greatest heartbreaker for me
