Day 1967 - Sunburst, Anyone?

Greetings, Bloggy Tomato Lovers!

While I am on a roll talking about vegetables, I tried a new vegetable this week.

They are little YELLOW-ORANGE grape tomatoes called 'Sunburst' tomatoes.

I got a big container of them at Sams Club, and I've just been eating them plain for a snack. They might be a bit sweeter than red grape tomatoes, and they're really good.

Don't get me wrong - I am NOT 'Miss Veggie' all of a sudden. I have to get back on the healthy bandwagon after indulging in fried pies, and fish and chips, and burgers and fries and ice cream over 4th of July weekend.

I think my scale gasped when I stepped on it the other day. Ok, maybe that was ME.

TTFN and have a great Tomato Tuesday!

Comments:
Yes, I've seen those little yellow tomatoes, and they taste not unsimilar to the red ones.

A hot day here today in the upper 80's.

I looked up freezing vegetables in my Fanny Farmer--maybe I should just cook you a batch of beet greens then freeze them all cooked. What do you think?

Just saying hello, very busy week this past week. I'm glad you have a Whole Foods near you.

Love, your earthy-crunchy sister

Peggy, my Fanny Farmer cookbook is old and moldy (and unused for many years) so I threw it out. I'll have to use yours if needed. (actually I may switch to the TV food shows)

I need to try the yellow tomatoes. I LOVE grape tomatoes, so I'm sure I'll love those too.

I spent most of today on the phone and at the bank dealing with a thief who stole one of our checks from Mike's checkbook and used it to debit 300+ bucks from my account. Basically every cent that we had. We will get it back through the bank, but it takes time and is a pain in the butt. What REALLY stinks about it all, is it was a past STUDENT that Mike had befriended and helped out with tons of stuff. So sad.

Heather! That's terrible! I also worry about people stealing numbers from checks, but never thought that a FRIEND would do something like that.

Mom, just cook some beet greens SLIGHTLY and freeze them, they will be yummy.
