Day 1872 - Eeeew! What's THAT?

Greetings, Bloggy Marine-life Lovers!

Anybody know what the heck this is?

I guess it's in the jellyfish family, and some of these had washed up on the beach during the recent storms.

Since we're on our way home, I guess I can reveal now that we've been in Florida for a week!

OMIGOSH! I couldn't wait to find out, and so I looked it up.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is a Portuguese Man O' War, responsible for serious venom issues if it stings you. EEK!

I am very very glad we did not go in the ocean water with these things in there! And I thought the little clear jellyfish were bad enough!

If you want to read more about it, here is the link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portuguese_Man_o%27_War

TTFN and stay safe!

Hope your vacation was great, and glad you stayed out of the water!

Gil's installing an 18" dishwasher in our rental house next door for when Nancy comes to live here. It's so cute, and is supposed to hold an 8 place setting of dishes. Also today we'll do something to celebrate April 8, our first "date" 6 yrs ago! And today is Gil's daughter, Vicki's, birthday--we talked with her last night. Happy Birthday, Vicki!

Happy weekend everyone!

Happy homecoming, Karen!
