Day 1743 - The best product in the world

Greetings, Bloggy Twofer Tuesdayers!

No, this is not a photo of the best product in the world, but is a good lead in...

I have had a stuffy head since last Friday, and my nose is NOT red and NOT sore. That is a miracle if you ask me.

What has saved me and my delicate schnozzola?

Puffs Plus Lotion Tissues are, bar none, the absolute best tissues when you have a cold.

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it. Not a commercial, just a testimonial.

TTFN, and by the way - so long November, Hello, December!

Comments:
Hey Mamma, glad your nose is still in one piece. I will go to Trader Joe's if you want? And I will get the prime rib from Sams...I can't wait for all that FOOD! yummy!

And Jen's 18th Bday is TOMORROW! Sheesh...18.

Hi Karen...love the nose and toilet paper system. Hope you are feelin better. Steve has had a BAD cold for a few weeks. I have battled the germs in the house by changing the towels and cleaning the faucets. It works.

So, reading the blog, I just wanted you to know I plan to make spanikopita...a large pan of it. I'm just about to work out the menu, because Mom is supposed to call to talk about it.
I tend not to worry about things like this.... Any requests? Let me know. LIKE THE SPANIKOPITA...Shy girl, just tell me. Any other incredibly difficult and time consuming recipes you'de like me to throw together? (just kidding!!!)
So far, I will make pumpin pie, pecan pie, cheese cake, and chocolate christmas tree cake. I was thinking about making the squash and sweet potato and sausage casserole. Maybe Leek soup (Just because). Mashed potatoes with gravy. Maybe French pork pie (authentic recipe).
By now, I can hear Mom protesting. I also make this awesome marinated broccoli and red bell pepper salad. Red and green, looks great, cleanses the palate, very crunchy.
Cranberry bread. Braided bread (Mom's recipe). Store bought rolls, because Steve likes them. Maybe French bread instead from the bakery.
We'll get the tree on Thursday. Once we got it early, the year we all waited and waited for Will. He finally got home on New Years, and the tree had died! I was so afraid that it would catch fire, but I left it up till he got home. I was never such a nervous wreck in all my life.
I wish he could be here this year. But it sounds like everyone else wil be there, and we are looking forward to it... Wish Nancy could be there too!

Lyn, I wish I could be there too--especially after reading the menu (just kidding--all of you are more important than food, it's just an added plus!)--next year, I'll be there. Wonder when I'll get to see Will and the baby?? xoxo

Lyn, what a great menu--you always do "knock yourself out" but it's always delicious food and everything gets eaten, doesn't it? Spanyakopita and prime rib and chicken pie, oh my! I'll be calling shortly just to say what I'll bring. Can't wait to see everyone--more important than the food of course! Yes, Nancy, next year you can join us! We'll probably see Will and family as soon as we see Eric and family!

Kelly is making two scallop casseroles as I'm writing this, and we'll freeze them and then when I get there, they go into the oven at 350 for 40 minutes. I'm also bring cranberry/blueberry/almond bark, and also almond crunch. Those will be our offerings.

I don't know how we can possibly consume all that food, but we'll try!!

Lyn - do you have a crock pot? I was thinking that I could slowly heat the prime rib in a crock pot instead of tying up the oven, but it's not a requirement, we'll get everything done.

No requests other than prime rib, chicken pie and spanakopita, but I'll like scallop casserole too.

Heather - no worries about Trader Joes cause Lyn is making spanakopita. I'll send you moola for the prime rib.

Happy Birthday to Jen tomorrow!
