Day 1739 - READY....SET... Shop till you drop - it's Black Friday!

Greetings, Bloggy Day Afters!

Did you have a nice Turkey day? And are you still full?

Can you believe it is Friday, already? Another weekend is HERE!

I know, I know, some people are WORKING today...but lots of others are SHOPPING today.

I've been doing semi-continuous shopping already. For some reason my frugal meter gets suppressed when the holidays arrive.

I feel GUILTY if I go to the dollar store and spend over $20. Now that is stupid, considering I don't think anything of it if Charlie and I go out for dinner and spend $40 or $50. Why is that?

Dunno...

Have fun working or shopping today! TTFN!

Comments:
Hey - I want to hear if you bought anything on Black Friday!

Charlie's daughter is venturing out... who else will brave the crowds?

We went out early, checked some possible storefronts for a music studio rental, if I make a change, then drove into the shopping area and I bought some embroidery stuff. I was one of the first 100 people so I got a discount. We were home by 9:00. That's enough shopping for me today!

Charlie and I actually went out for about an hour or so, and we went to stores off the beaten path and didn't have a crowd.

I got 50% off on Carters footie pajamas for Savi for Xmas so she'll have several pair.

Heather - they are SOOOO cute!

xxx

Oops - forgot to mention it is 38 degrees with a wind today, and yesterday tied a record high of 74.

It is frozen friday for COLD!

Yes, we bought a 40" Sony LCD TV to be delivered from the Auburn store on Tues. We were at Agren's Appliance in S Paris at 8:45am and there was only 1 car in the lot. The 2 men at the counter said there were 20 people outside at 8am when the opened--I guess that's as big a crowd as they could imagine! The big sellers they told us were a 26" Sansui TV for $199. and a Coby 32" TV/Monitor for $229--I'm reading this from the flyer. Then we went to Market Square for breakfast, then to Walgreen's for birthday cards for David and Timmy's Dec. birthdays, and Gil got a graduation card for his granddaughter, Emily's husband, getting his Asso. Degree. So that was the sum total of our shopping today!

I forgot to tell you we woke up to an inch of snow on the ground. Gil had to go up to the storage shed to get his shovel, and later got his snowblower out, mostly to be sure it would start up when he really needs it. It was 30 degrees, and now is 34.

Peggy, why did you buy a new TV? I thought the one you had looked good.

I spent the night at my friend Denise's, went with her to Gumps this a.m. to get a few special items (not on sale but she gets 20% discount)-walked down to my office (no one here of course) and about 7 pm will walk to Macy's later to see if any "deals" remain.

Karen, meals, movies etc are in a different category than SHOPPING and the cheap meter hasn't kicked in--

I worked all day...no shopping for me! Savi starts dance tomorrow. Off to bed soon...
My phone is broken again for anyone who doesn't know...grrr.
