Day 1715 - Twofer Tuesday

Greetings, Bloggy Twofer Tuesdayers -

Charlie and I already voted during early voting - but for all of you voters out there, I hope the lines are short for you!

Here's a great fall photo of thousands of leaves, and our little leaf gatherer, Savannah.

I remember the crackle and swish of leaves under my feet in New England - and I can still smell the musty scent of a leaf pile after I have jumped in it.

By the way - I also remember how very dry leaves crumble into bits and stick to your clothing, your socks, and in your hair

Speaking of remembering things - the countdown is ON to the end of Daylight Saving time, and shorter days. Turn the clocks back Saturday night before you go to bed.

TTFN and Happy Voting!

Comments:
I love those leaf pics. My little chickadee was NOT happy about going to school today. She started crying the second we pulled into the driveway. I ended up staying for over a half hour with her, trying to calm her down. Luckily I had a late session and COULD stay for a bit without messing up my work schedule. I've been talking to her 'teacher' through text and she WAS doing well earlier, then refused to eat lunch (she did the same last friday) and refused to nap. She just sat on her cot...Nap is two hours. I HOPE she didn't just sit there the whole time. She needs to sleep. Getting nervous that this may not be a good fit for her, like I'd hoped. Considering visiting OUR old YMCA daycare on Hope street and seeing if MORE kids might make her more comfortable? I'm confused as to which part of school is bothering her. =( I can't stand knowing that she's there all day, sad. Unfortunately tomorrow is a Grandma day, so whatever progress she may have made by the end of the day will be gone by the time she goes back on thurs. Frustrating.

Heather, hope Savi (and you) get through the adjustment period successfully.

Karen, I just read your blog that you saved your candy until Christmas? Hard to believe, LOL.

Heather, That's too bad, and hard to figure out. Maybe she needs to be a little older for daycare. Good luck!

Nice picture, and nice memories, Karen!

Hang in there, Heather!

Changing to another place isn't going to automatically make her happy every day.

She'll have both good days and bad days, I am sure.

You are right. We have sort of pinned down her stress point...its the nap time. I already knew she hated nap time, but we think that is also why she won't eat. Jaime (the owner) said that Savi ate breakfast and played well all morning. As soon as lunch was mentioned, Savi got quiet and sad. She wouldn't eat. We've decided that she already understands the schedule and knows that lunch time means NAP time is next....so she gets upset just KNOWING it's coming, and wont eat. That makes me feel more confident that she will work through it. She will adjust to the nap time schedule and not be so upset by it. And then she will eat! She certainly wont starve, so I'll relax and let her work this out however she needs to. I just hate putting her in ANY situation that is scary or upsetting. But she has to learn, right? Right.
