Day 1615 - More Creepy Crawlies

Greetings, Blogregation!

Charlie recently visited his son in Alabama, and took this photo of a black widow spider capturing a wolf spider in its web.

Great Photo, Charlie! You can clearly see the red spot on the black widow.

Here in the South there seem to be lots of poisonous creatures, including black widows. I saw a black widow spider once up at our mailbox, and yes, PETA, I killed it. It was so shiny it looked like a little crawling jewel.

Yesterday Charlie saw a 5 foot long rattlesnake in the road near Laurel Hill Lake. More creepiness.

Be safe today, and hopefully cool! Yesterday it was 100 degrees, and they are anticipating 97 today. The outdoor pool is HOT at the health club in the afternoons.

Our little weather station/indoor-outdoor thermometer is broken, and we're going to go get another one today after we swim.

TTFN!

Comments:
We are off to the beach again... Uncle too!

Beach is the place to be with those temperatures. We have our summer (fog) 50's at night, low
60s today. Our usual glorious sun is gone, gone gone! Good for SF marathoners though.

I hate spiders so eeewwwww to that photo. We do not have mosquitos or bugs (except for the rare heat wave.

Well, the meeting at my church ended in two votes, restricting the use of the invested funds, which means if they don't come up with more pledges or fundraising. what they'll be proposing are probably staff salary cuts. It puts more pressure on the fundraising side of things, and maybe they'll get their act together around those efforts, which have been pretty lackluster. I feel pretty upset about it all right now, but I know things may turn out ok. There are lots of people there who care about the music program. But I got a comment from one guy, a housepainter, who i know well, who said to me, "Well, I had to take a 20% cut in pay this year in order to get business". What they're going to have is a 20% cut in the music program if they do that. I have to make up that income in other ways, and can't be expected to just absorb the cuts and put in the same amount of time.

Hang in there, Marcia and see what happens. Hope it will all work out in your favor. xxx

Good luck Marcia. I know you work very hard for your pay! The ideal position would be that they think they might lose you if your pay is reduced but leaving open the option of staying if a reduction is inevitable.
