Day 1532 - Get 'areal' wit your bad self...

Greetings, Monday Morning Blah-gers!

I noticed the weather warnings said 'Areal Flood Warning' and 'Areal Flood Advisory' yesterday.

I thought it was a misspelling, until Charlie said one of the meterologists also mentioned that it was 'a real' term.

The ad-libbing news staff talked ALL DAY LONG yesterday, and you could tell they were getting tired. Sometimes they said things like 'cars with water over their heads', and 'well, it's ALL bad', and lots of other things I can't remember. It was painful.

Turns out it means general flooding over a wide area, but it was pretty hard to find when Charlie was looking for a definition.

We made it through the flood without losing the bee hives - only by an inch or two! The flood waters were almost up to the bottom of the hives, it is a miracle the moving water didn't knock them off their platforms.

You can see the white bee hives in the photo, and the water at their bases? Can you see them? Charlie is going to move them to higher ground at some point, that was TOO CLOSE!

Most schools are going to be closed today, and some have flood damage. I am hoping the roads I need to be on today will be dry.

Be careful and stay dry, everyone! Lots of sunny weather coming up!

Comments:
I forgot to mention that the Opryland Hotel was evacuated, and has water damage! I hope it will be all right by Sunday!

Hope so, even if it isn't there are other restaurants. How about the Grand Ole Opry? I saw all that water in Nashville on the Today show this a.m.

So glad the bee hives are ok!

Hey, I sent you an email, Karen, that you'll be happy about.

Our stores still aren't open, so if there is damage, there is a VERY good chance it won't be ready in a week!!
Glad you guys are doing ok though. Not fun!!!

I agree "It's all bad", as the reporter said. It looks like we'll have to cancel our vacation. What a disappointment! At least Mary Ann put travel insurance on our plane tickets.
