Day 1511 - I've Gotta Crow...

Greetings, Monday morning BLAH-gers!

Here is the album cover of Mary Martin's Broadway recording of 'Peter Pan' - my favorite.

My grandmother owned this album, and always played it for us. I have it on CD now, of course!

I have a 'Peter Pan' story to share...

A friend of mine has three children. Her oldest is a teenage boy in high school. He is active in band, and student government, and has also performed in some high school performances.

Her husband would prefer the son go out for football rather than music and drama - but he's just not a 'beefy' kid and is doing just fine in the activities he likes.

Well - Grandma came over for Easter, and brought an album of pictures of 'Dad' growing up.

Guess what? As the family looked through the picture album - what was this? A photo and newspaper article about DAD in his starring role as PETER PAN... which DAD had never mentioned.

So now we know where the musical talent in the family came from - whether or not he wants to admit it.

TTFN and have a nice Monday!

Comments:
haha!!! silly men.
ugh, It's monday again already...

My students love to sing "I Won't Grow Up".

Karen, interesting that the Dad had the same talents. Maybe he got teased a lot as a child.

A new Peter Pan show is coming soon to SF, described as:

"Direct from London, a spectacular new stage production of J.M. Barrieā€™s classic story performed in a state-of-the-art 1350-seat theatre pavilion. Conceived by an award-winning creative team and featuring twenty-two actors, stunning puppets, epic music, and dazzling flying sequences surrounded by breathtaking video, Peter Pan was a smash hit when it launched in London in 2009. The world's first 360-degree video projection for live theater flies both cast and audience over Edwardian London." Sounds pretty cool, I'll definitely try to see it.

Sounds cool - Nancy! Let us know what you think of it.
