Day 1273 - Birthdays and Anniversaries!

Greetings, Bloggy Movers and Shakers!

We moved to Columbia 7 years ago today. I never want to move again unless it's to an old folks home (or maybe a palace if I win the lottery).

This photo from 2004 shows the creek on our property in spring (when there is water in it).

It also shows the brand new, cement bridge (or low water ford) we had contracted to be built that year, so Charlie could drive a lawnmower or his truck back there. The bridge is still working perfectly!

The reason I remember the date we moved is that it's also my father's birthday. Happy Birthday, Dad!

I need to get ready for water aerobics, I think I'll stay for 2 classes.

This afternoon we are going to a fish fry with Charlie's old fishing bunch. Nobody could consistently tell us what time to be there, so we'll go in the afternoon and see what happens! I'm making sausage balls to bring.

TTFN and have a nice Saturday!

Comments:
Its boiling hot today and I have no idea what to do for fun! Jen has been with her mom since last week so there's no beach plans..She is there helping her Mom get ready for her WEDDING which is tomorrow. I was supposed to go (its being held at Sue's house in the backyard...ceremony, reception & all) but Janet can't babysit. 5 long days a week are too much already, so she asked to take a break for the weekend. I completely understand and feel bad that she's the only one here to get stuck with the super long 12 hour days...I SHOULD start looking into daycare, although Janet swears she'd rather take her than have me do that...but I think she's starting to rethink that. 10-12 hrs a day IS a long long time to keep a baby amused.

so anyway, that's my story. It's just the two of us, it's really hot and we are bored. Will probably end up at the Y, which has become much less exciting, but will keep us cool=)

Hi everyone! We arrived home from Nantucket late last night about 9:30. Wonderful trip but always nice to come home. Marcia's Women's Chorus was perfection, as was her organ concert the next day. We enjoyed the music, pleasant bed and breakfast accomodations, dinners out with Marcia, and tour around the Island! My sister, Martha, stayed overnight and after a breakfast of blueberry pancakes (thanks to Gil picking a qt of blueberries at his daughter, Brenda's house), Martha headed home to check on her husband. We 3 sisters had a good visit, only lacking sister, Nancy! This afternoon Gil and I and Mary Ann will go to the Rotary Lobster/clams dinner. Hot today, whew!

I had sent a card and gift for Evan's birthday and left my usual "Happy Birthday" rendition on his cell phone. That's great picture of Evan and Savi! Love that story of Heather and Evan's conversation! Evan was so adorable and still is!

Hi Heather--you are such a hard worker!!!!!

Heather, I said "welcome back" because you (understandably) don't blog everyday anymore. At least you're having your real summer now.
Everyone's complaints about heat reminds me of us in SF--we complain about all the cool fog and temps below 60 but when we have a couple of days of 80's (and this is with no humidity, mind you) we're all complaining.

To my sisters, not only did I not get to go to Nantucket, I didn't get any homemade blueberry pancakes either.

It was 88 degrees here at 8:15 this evening. We just got back from the fish fry, and we are SOOOO stuffed... Ugh....

I figured that is what you meant, but I DO still blog daily...just usually after work, before bed, and only to say how tired I am. LOL!!!!

I have a great day planned tomorrow to replace my ruined wedding plans. My friend Jen that I haven't seen in over 10 years just moved back to RI and is having a get together at Scarborough beach...so Savi and I will be meeting her there. They have a camper off the beach on the grassy area and will be cooking tons of food, there will be lots of kids, and there is a path to get to the water nearby. Should be lots of fun!!!
