Day 1266 - Ahhhh - Weekend!

Greetings, Bloggy Weekenders!

'Shoulder' your burdens like Savannah here, and enjoy the weekend.

Heather mentioned getting a long weekend. In Rhode Island, they still celebrate VJ day, so they'll have Monday off. Here, it's just another work day.

Heather - can you tell yet if Savannah is right handed or left? I hadn't really thought about it.

Nancy - speaking of ballgames...

Charlie and TY and two more buddies left yesterday for a whirlwind baseball trip until Wednesday. TY does this every year, and Charlie is a fill-in for someone who couldn't make it this year.

Today they are in Washington, D.C., hanging out with the president, touring D.C., and attending the Washington Nationals vs. Arizona Diamondbacks game. Fun, huh?

Tomorrow they drive to Philly for some cheesesteak and another game.

I'll fill you in on where they are each day.

Gotta get ready for MY day, which includes exercise and meeting some girls from work at Cajun Steamer for lunch!

TTFN! Enjoy your long weekend, Heather!

Comments:
Hi all! Our beach plans for today were cancelled. Jen's friend Anthony got called into work and Jen would be bored to tears without someone to swim w/ her all day...so we will go tomorrow. Today we may go to the park & feed the ducks instead. If it gets hot, we can always hit the Y waterpark.

Have a great weekend everyone! Mom, when do you get here again? I'm going to try to request at least ONE day off that week...

Another pretty Savi picture! Heather, so glad you have a long weekend to renew your body and spirit, and Savi too! Sounds like a fun time for Charlie and the guys. We didn't stay up for the end of last night's Red Sox/Yankees' game. We went to bed after the 11th inning (no score for either),and Steve R. said it ended in the 15th inning with a 2 run homer by A-Rod at quarter of 1am. The Red Sox have so many new young players, it worries me. Oh well, nothing I can do about it! Gil finished his father's house in time for the tenant to move in last night. Now just a few more things in the garage to take somewhere! I just finished 2 pies for the Legion Hall dance tonight--Gil and I serve steamed hot dogs (red, of course!) and pies once a month. And I made chocolate chip cookies for the Legion picnic tomorrow at noon. Now I'm going to relax and read. Gil is having a well-deserved nap!

Karen, I'm hoping when I retire I can take one of tnose baseball trips.

Hi Nancy - everything about the baseball trip sounds fun EXCEPT all the driving. I would want to have someone along who loves to drive long distances!
