Day 1157 - Donkey-Hotay (Don Quixote)

Greetings, Bloggy Knights-errant!

Here is our lost soul - the famous Don-key Hotay. (I am sure you get the reference).

We are asking around to try to find someone who will come get him and take care of him. We have some interest from one of Charlie's former coworkers.

Animal control's comment - 'No, we can't help you. Looks like you've got yourself a donkey'. Not very helpful.

Old Don Q trots away when anyone comes near him, but he's eating and acting like a donkey ought to... He is quite ragged and has either been fighting or attacked by another animal.

The neighbors horses are interested, and come to the fence to look him over, but he ignores them. He DOES look at the female donkeys (called Jennys or Jennets, by the way) owned by the neighbor on the other side, and stands and daydreams about them. They are a light cream/gray color, and he's all manly and studly in his brown suit.

Just holler if you know someone who wants him! At least he's safe in the barn lot, and away from the road.

Comments:
I want him! Ride him on over!! =)

Hi Karen,

Poor animal. Try animal rescue league in your state. Just searched for ... and got the following.

Hi Cheryl!!! Ya Mom, the animal rescue would prob'ly take him! I can't believe animal control did NOTHING! not even offer another option! The neighbors with the females don't want a handsome stud? =)

To keep everyone posted on the progress...

I called a vet's office this morning. The lady there said that she could probably find someone that will want the beast. We'll see what (if anything) she turns up. That makes three people that say that thay can "probably" help. And to answer Heather's question - I'm taken. :-)

oh crap. LOL!!!!

Can't you keep him, now that Charlie is home? He's so adorable (yes Charlie both of you are adorable).

I'm going to throw up.

But here's another update - the next door neighbor is interested, and a guy at work is interested too. We'll see who gets him...

Uh - the donkey, I mean.
