Day 758 - Twofer Tuesday
Greetings, Twofer Tuesdayers!
Here's a pretty spring scene for you that I found on the web.
I have a cute photo of Savannah that I am saving for later in the week.
The trees and forsythia are blooming here in the South, and it is just lovely!
Poor Charlie has already started his seasonal yard work - he says he's busy cutting green onions instead of grass. Thanks, Charlie!
I think Charlie and I should take a drive this weekend and look for signs of spring. Doesn't that sound good?
Almost exactly a year ago, my sister Lyn and her husband came to visit, and the weather was wonderfully warm. They stayed a couple nights at the Opryland Hotel, and went to the Grand Ole Opry, then stayed with us for the remainder of the visit.
We took a drive on the Natchez Trace parkway, and did some sightseeing, and toured Carnton Plantation and the Civil War graveyard.
You can look back in the bloggy archives if you want to hear more about that visit!
Oops- it's 6am - time to get ready for work! TTFN!
My favorite work partner (she's a nurse in her 60's) grew up in S. Boston with a cop for a father. Now THAT's IRISH. married a drunk and divorced him. I told her that's a NURSE thing, not an IRISH thing. She has reddish hair and green eyes. Very petite. She had a nice smile when I told her I was a Slattery. Yes, she said, THAT's Irish! She's all about Ireland.
Heather, reading about Savannah, all I could do was: 1. Thank God I haven't been near her, or I'd truly be afraid she might be sick, (INFLUENZA bad s--t) and, 2. Think of Chrsitopher's never ending colic. His first four months his digestive system gave him no peace. The doctor gave me phenobarbitol. I didn't know what it was, but I was so afraid of the WORD I didn't give it to him! He cried and spit up, but was double his birth weight by 3 mos. Keep the faith! This too shall pass (no pun intended.)
What a photo yesterday! That baby is SO extra-ordinary, isn't she? She is truly amazing! I'm just afraid that when I hold her I will never want to let her go. She is one special girl.
SO sorry to hear about your fever! I had a breast infection once with Charles. every time he started to nurse it was like getting stabbed in the boob. Bad. I had an awesome book at the time which gave me a lot of encouragement. I would read it over and over...(some La Leche Leauge thing.)
Hang in....I'd be there, Heather, but believe me it's a bad idea.
