Day 715 - I'm a jinx and I never knew it...

Greetings, Monday morning Blah-ghers!

Well, I blew the Patriots chances at a Super Bowl win and a sweep of the entire season when I talked about Eli on the blog. It must have been me, I can't imagine why else they would have lost!

All kidding aside - even though the Pats lost, the Super Bowl game itself was just excellent, very fun to watch, and a nail biter for sure at the end! I had high hopes that the Patriots would tie things up and go into overtime for the win.

Hey - the Giants played better yesterday, and they were the winners. End of story.

We had a nice evening watching the Super Bowl with TY and SY, and the food was yummy! We had chips and dips, a sausage and cheese tray, lots of various vegetables and dip, and prime rib/french dip sandwiches with broccoli salad and cole slaw.

Another great thing about yesterday besides FOOD - my daughter and I got our webcams going at the same time and we could have a 'typed' conversation while we were looking at each other and waving!

It was AWESOME! That was the best birthday present ever for me!

Folks - if you have family far away - get some webcams going so you can SEE each other. They aren't even expensive, and the end result IS PRICELESS!

Hey - it's after six - gotta go!

Don't forget - Survivor starts on Thursday (I think)!!! Nancy - set your VCR!

Comments:
The webcams are the best thing ever. Super fun!!!
As expected, we went to bed at half time and didn't finish the game, but boy was I surprised to find out the end result this morning!!! How awful for the Pats to play a PERFECT season, only to lose the big one...bummer.

Tell us more about setting up a webcam! I think that's what Will had last summer when he and Shannon spent hours emailing and looking at each other. As to the Patriots, last night we were shocked and sad, but today I'm angry at the team for letting poor Tom Brady get sacked over and over, and letting Eli Manning out of their clutches when at least 4 of them had hold of him. Jeesh! It's all too horrible to even think about! I'm sure they are all hating themselves today. No excuses, really. Gil is up at Uncle Doug's house with workmen that are installing a generator and other stuff, and when he comes back we're going to see "Bucket List". Something to take my mind off the Patriots. The Lewiston Sun Journal usually can't give more that a few paragraphs to either the Red Sox or Patriot's games, but today they have four pages back and front of pictures and analysis. I don't like that paper even on good days, and a lot less today. I hope the rest of you are having a good day!

Yes, Grammy. Will & Shannon have webcams on their computers. There's really nothing to the setup...you choose a webcam, most are perfectly fine, so find an inexpensive one, plug it into your computer (most likely with a USB cable) and install the software which will come on a disk or as a free download from the company that made your webcam. Then you can download a free instant messaging service, IE: Yahoo Messenger, and that's it!! Super easy, really neat to play with!!!

Yep, it's your fault Karen. But true, the Giants played better.

Yesterday at the hotel bar (full of anti-Pats fans) I had a corn chowder (thin broth) with one big shrimp in it, and crab & cabbage tacos (fried won ton shell). Bar snacks included small peanuts coated with wasabi -- if you are familiar with Japanese wasabi you know they were very spicy--forced me to have two beers instead of one.

Thanks for reminding me of new Survivor--it is Thursday.
