Day 508 - Friday the 13th and Motorcycles
It's Friday, and Friday the 13th!
You know what to do - pop a wheelie in a circle, chanting 'Fri-day! Fri-day! Fri-day!'
The last Friday the 13th was in April, when I got stranded in New England with bad storms and closed airports.
My vast motorcycle experiences include a couple of rides, and a very bad burn.
My very first motorcycle ride was down Hope Street in Providence, RI.
See photo - I rode on the back of a trike owned by none other than Rocco DiGiovanni. I'll never forget that name or the person, he had long handlebar mustaches and was a total wild man. I was just a teenager.
My motorcycle muffler burn happened one summer in Maine, when I was at the family farm. Because it was summer, I was wearing rolled up or cutoff jeans.
I went for a ride on my brother's friend Jim's motorcycle, (everyone remembers Jim, don't they?) My brother and Jim were in high school at the time if memory serves.
Anyway, a spot on my right inner calf hit the muffler pipe at some point and made a round, red, burnt circle that hasn't ever been 'normal' since.
That's the big motorcycle story! Nothing fun like getting hit by a bird or anything...
Have a great Friday and a great Weekend! TTFN!
I was trying to think of who that was, that flash in the pan with the bike when you were a teenager. ROCCO. Never knew it was a trike.
Anyway, here I was reading Ray Stedman online this am, and the customized alerts which pop up in the right hand corner come up with "Day 508 - Friday the 13th and Motorcycles" then the first line about the bloggy bikers, and I said hey! that's Karen! How about that. Along with BBC news and the International Herald, India Times, Reuters, and the list goes on, there is your blog! You've hit the big time!
So, Nancy, those are the best details I can revive.
I think David's friend Jim was kind of cute--maybe you got distracted?
