Day 496 - Sunday and Swimmage

Greetings, Blogregation!

I'm going out the door to swim again, so you're just going to have to wait for 'da blog'.

Sunday message as seen yesterday on a church sign on Highway 431 - 'Thoughts of 'the Son' keep you from burning.'

Story later about Charlie's visit to Lowes Home Improvement store.

TTFN!

Okay, it's nearly 8pm so I'd better tell the story before it's not Sunday anymore...

Recently Charlie went to Lowes to buy some wire. Okay, no big deal, eh?

'Wire' is stored on gigantic spools that are on a huge, revolving, motorized rack.

A Lowe's associate brings the spool of wire into position and measures off the amount of wire needed, with a little extra for good measure - kind of the 'bakers dozen' approach.

The associate who assisted Charlie was a very short man, around 5ft tall.

Charlie asked for 4 feet of wire. Charlie said the man used his own BODY as the measuring stick for the wire length!

He stood on one end, and pulled the wire up along HIMSELF, so of course Charlie ended up with his 4 feet of wire and a little extra for good measure.

Charlie said he might use his LEG as a measuring stick, but that one was a new one on him.

TTFN again!

Comments:
Hey, Karen, I would love some of that dehydrated squash on your next visit to Maine. My sister Martha is coming to visit this afternoon (whoops, she's here!) and we went to visit Fay and Rusty, after breakfast at a new buffet restaurant in Mechanic Falls, after church. The brothers and sisters are feeling the need to talk with each other after losing our brother, Sid, on Thurs.

hi Karen! is there a story of dehydrated squash on today's blog that I am missig? I read it over once, then again quickly, still I think I'm not seeing the dehdrated sqash! funny. very funny!

Hi Lyn - the dehydrator story was the day before. So far, I have dehydrated around 16 squash into 4 quart sized bags.
